Skream - Outside the Box

Post by _TraX_ » Fri Jun 03, 2011 2:06 am

Thoughts ? Just wondering what people think of it.

Idk, I'm weird in the way that I have trouble enjoying some of the old classics like Diary of An Afrowarrior, and I thought Skream! was a tad to elevator-music like, even though I have mad respect for both Benga and Skream, and I do love some of their songs.

I think Where you Should Be makes the whole damn album.

if you think diary of an afrowarrior is classic, try newstep.

I bought the Deluxe Edition and I liked Skreamizm 6 more than the album.
Though there are a couple of tunes that are nice. I'm just not really feelin it's overall style.

The fade-out at the end is stupid.

outside the box is more for just general listening, his skreamizms are more for mixing imo.

Love the album tho.

it was ok, some good songs but some pretty poor ones too. tbh i'd be happier if he just put out a new skreamizm each year!

 Zero M2 is quite silly, still pretty chill though. Like I said, I do like some Skream songs, including Rutten. He can get pretty fancy with the winds on his tunes which is pretty unique! But idk I just felt the whole vibe of his debut album is that of a doctor's office or somethin...

Outside the box is an amazing album, copped it on vinyl and was so happy to see that 8 bit baby was just the instrumental. It was like getting "tapped" on wax all over again :)

i didn't like either of the 8 bit baby versions and i prefer tapped with jme!

outside the box was pretty good i thought, a few tracks i'm not too keen on (8 bit baby, cpu, wibbler). perferated was a brilliant opening though, reminded me of boards of canada when i first listened.
skreamizm 6 was huge too.

i know its your typical aggy dubstep, but that song tore up the dancefloor when I saw DMZ
