Absynth 5
Got the demo and I absolutely adore the presets! Really unique and dissonant compared to most synths.
Unfortunately the interface and accessibility looks completely alien to me. Anyone got any success out of it? How quickly were you able to get to grips with it?

I frequently go back to it, it is very easy to make unique sounds with the included FX and mutation setting.
What I'd suggest is that you lookup some YouTube videos on Absynth, NI usually has pretty good videos on their products showcasing features.
Also, the included manual (which too many people do not read) has tons of information that'll make it much easier to navigate inside Absynth.
Good luck!

Re: Absynth 5
Whats the learning curve like? I notice a lot of the presets seem to be manipulated by FM synthesis, I've only just learned the basics of subtractive so I'm unsure whether to make the purchase since I reckon I may be right out of my depth.
Still, I've got the whole of the summer off from Uni so I could get to grips with it.

For those of you that think fm8 is hard, fm8 is ALOT easier than absynth.

This. YouTube is broken when it comes to finding good tutorials for absynth or fm8.nowaysj wrote:I've never found a good absynth tutorial, or any really. If you know one please surve it up.

Re: Absynth 5
I thought this was a quite good tutorial for FM8 and FM synthesis in general.

Re: Absynth 5
Mmmm perhaps leave it then. Tempted to get it just for some of the sick sounds, but I suppose that's detrimental to progression in the long-run...
