Ostgut Ton and Corsica Studios presents UNTERTON
On Friday June 10th we are extremely proud to present UNTERTON, the launch of a new Ostgut Ton night at Corsica Studios. After the resounding success of the FUNF birthday celebrations last November it was clear that the Ostgut Ton artists and ethos were perfectly suited to Corsica’s raw and stripped down surroundings and its impeccable sound systems so it was only a matter of time before a return visit was in order.
For each of these events we’ll be working with Ostgut Ton to bring over a carefully picked selection of the artists who have contributed to their reputation as one of the leading labels in modern electronic music. The sounds of Berghain and Panorama Bar will of course be represented by the likes of Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Prosumer and Steffi but we’ll also be delving deeper and offering some of the lesser seen artists the opportunity to play for discerning audiences at each event.
For the launch party we have assembled an amazing line up which goes some way to representing the breadth of Ostgut Ton’s roster. Alongside label mate Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock is probably Ostgut Ton’s most praised DJ and producer and is as renowned for his lengthy, extended sets as he is for helping define the sound of Berghain. On this occasion we are delighted to be able to offer Ben free reign and he’ll be playing an extended set in the main room. Commencing proceedings will be Norman Nodge who’ll be setting the tone for the evening and we are also privileged to be able to offer Tobias. an opportunity to play a live analogue hardware set where he’ll be airing some tracks from his forthcoming releases.
In the confines of room 2 we’ll be treated to a master-class in house with the first ladies of Panorama Bar, Steffi and Tama Sumo at the controls. Steffi’s warm, classic-inspired and analog-proud productions have featured as various singles on the label and her first full-length artist album, “Yours & Mine“ plants her firmly on the map as a deft hand at song writing and production. Tracks like the unmistakable “Yours“ featuring Virginia, or pumping warehouse moments like “Mine“ and “Nightspacer“ are undeniably impressive and the album as a whole is an emotional journey reflecting her love for real, uncompromised club music. Tama Sumo has been a resident at Panorama Bar and Berghain since its opening in 2004 and tonight she’ll be playing house in all of its facets, combined with reduced techno, old Electro, disco and pop and we can expect a set full of bass, melody and all that is deep, sexy, dirty, jacking, rough and funky.
