Sound design, realising a concept and making the tune sound big.
My least favourite part is finishing an arrangement.

Having fun is the most important part of the process to me

Sitting on as many tunes as possible. Getting things done. Work ethic.

When somebody says "hey can I have stems to do a remix of your tune" and before you can even send the stems they make this:
That's probably one of my favorite things about producing.

Re: Whats your favorite part about producing
Experimenting with different FX chains on my bass sounds.
That and reaching the point where I say to myself "There is nothing else I can do to make this tune any better, its done" *cue celebration spliff and sending it to some peeps for feedback*

I'm ashamed to say that I only just recently found out you can save mixer channel states in FL and load them onto other channels/new projects

Has made my effect processing suddenly a whole lot easier when I have some default 'go-to' chains already setup

I can't make anything that I don't like, cus I will quit making it if happens. I have to make something I enjoy myselfwizeguy wrote:the £...

My favourite part is when you've just spent days on a tune. Poured your heart and soul into it, you're like "YES, THIS IS THE ONE!" there's no doubt in your mind that it's the best work you've ever created, you upload it to soundcloud, pass it around for peeps to comment on and you get "hmm, not really feeling this to be honest" "It's a bit odd man, maybe change the drums or something?" "hmm not feeling this synth at all" :\
Or the flipside of that, when you spend half an hour throwing a beat together just cos you got some spare time, you upload it just for shits even though you know it's rubbish and everyone thinks it's the best thing you've ever done.
FML.

Re: Whats your favorite part about producing
I enjoy the vibe of an all nighter session:
10pm working on the beat
2 am working on the bass
5 am working on the pads and watching the sun rise
Only shit thing is by 8 am I feel shit as I head to bed and hear everyone else getting up for work.... :/

Re: Whats your favorite part about producing
my fav part of producing is when I proceed to soundcloud and comment over 9000 songs saying how awesome they are, so I can get 9000 comments on my own productions so I can feel good about myself. Like hey, I got 9000 comments. I must be going somewhere. yea.... YEA I MADE IT!

That's fast becoming a favourite of mine.kaiori breathe wrote:When somebody says "hey can I have stems to do a remix of your tune" and before you can even send the stems they make this:

Anyway.
Having fun, putting the headphones on and losing myself for hours on end, bassline design/bass synthesis, intros and outros, writing drops, everything coming together, and well...pretty much everything.

Re: Whats your favorite part about producing
most of all? probably the feeling of creation, knowing im expressing myself.
but
vibing off my own shit
finding THE sound or riddim or sample. you know what i mean, THAT feeling
listening to it, lying on my bed, eyes closed, bunnin zoot.
playing it to my friends and they buzz off it.
gettin people from the other side of the world asking for your tunes.
i know thats quite a lot of things, but yeah i genereally love music.
