Re: Books
Just thought I'd bump this as opposed to making another thread.
I'm about to start an English degree at uni, and want to broaden my horizons before I start.
I'm looking for a blend of fantasy but in the real world? Like not spells and witchcraft BS, just bizarre tales in a city like setting. Any suggestions?

I havent read it, but 'The City & the City' by China Miéville seems to fit your description well and was well rated in the press.

Andre Breton - Nadja
All of Flannery O'Conners short stories

Haruki Murakami is great, not overrated IMO. Most of his books might fit your bill.say_whut wrote:Just thought I'd bump this as opposed to making another thread.

The Machine Stops by E. M Forster. It's a short story about the future, it's really good.say_whut wrote:Nice, any book of his in particular I should read first?mohan wrote:Haruki Murakami is great, not overrated IMO. I recommend Dead Air by Ian Banks, good read.
anything by Bret Easton Ellis.
