Post by tripaddict » Tue Jun 14, 2011 2:44 am

is there an official one ?

i've found a few but must are mixed up with dnb and other genres .... i'd like a definitive list driven by figures and math.

For Vinyl, the weekly sales charts on Chemical are a pretty good gauge of whats selling well for the time being.

Also lets you know whats new out this week

Generally speaking if your record is selling well there its selling well on other sites

Example
This weeks Top 10 Vinyl Sales - http://www.chemical-records.co.uk/sc/vi ... ormatID=11

1) Pinch - Swish/Tunnel Home - Deep Medi
2) Jami xx - Far Nearer/Beat For - Numbers
3) Cyrus - Looking Back/Soul Seeker- Chestplate
4) Tunnidge/Truth - Puppets Remix/Ghost Dance - Origin Audio
5) Blawan - Getting Me Down - White Label
6) Benny Page - Original Killa/Take You Back - Subway
7) Datsik - Hydrualic/Overdose - Rottun
8) Joker - The Vision - 4AD
9) V.I.V.E.K - Eyes Down EP - Deep Medi
10) J:Kenzo - The Roteks/Protected - Tempa

yeah... people pay too much attention to the beatport charts and don't realize those people aren't selling vinyl. If a tune is on vinyl and mp3 its gonna split up the figures. So something might not chart on Beatport but is doing very well in the vinyl market.

All that melts away when the lights are down and the bass is up.

As said above, look at chemical to gauge vinyl, and Juno's charts are better then beatports imo... alot better balance between deep n filthy sounds.
