To be fair (legit) anarchists were definitely involved in the anti-olympics "violence" (i.e. property destruction). The media hype about "anarchists" being involved here is pretty absurd, though. Last night a CTV reporter called looters wearing Canucks jerseys with shirts tied around their faces "black bloc anarchists," as if concealing your face while committing a crime was the exclusive domain of anarchists.

See I'm fine with protests/riots when it's for something legit. The Omar Kadhr thing for example, that was riot worthy. But when I talk to people up here, probably 1/10 knows what I'm talking about, and of those 1/10 probably only a quarter of them know what happened. There's no way there'd be a riot over that, even though it was a huge violation of basic human rights.

Same with the police brutality at the G20. That would have been a worthwhile riot. But focus it at the pigs, they were the ones instigating shit.

People can't get excited over legit reasons like that, but they get excited because their team played pretty shittily. And then they take it out on people and businesses just for fun. In the first video you can see some cock making "the horns" and posing infront of the car because he thinks it'll be a badass facebook picture. In the second one, some guy in a red hoody starts beating the shit out of some old guy, the moment someone comes in to break it up the red hoody guy runs off. If they wanna fight have at it, but at least fucking fight, don't just hit someone because you wanna do the old ultraviolence and run.

It's videos like that that make me a bit shamed to be Canadian. We have legitimate human rights issues to deal with and yet we focus all our energy at beating the shit out of each other over a sports game. Now that's kinda fucked.

When I lived up north (went to UND for 2 semesters) we would follow some of our fellow classmates (couple of em went pro! jason blake, mike commodore stand up!) to games in Canada... and by default they would instantly try to start shit with the kids from the american school even though half our team was canadian.

Anyways the canadian hockey fans always had the mob mentality but none of them could fight and the second one of them was laying on the floor they'd scatter like bitches.

What boggles my mind is why you get upset about Boston winning the NHL championship when a large chunk of their team is.... you guessed it CANADIAN



I think its because Canadians are all proper most of the time and when shit goes nutty in a crowd you can get away with your rowdy urges. Where as in the US we just keep a rowdy mentality standard and never get too high (ie sports riots) or too low.

That and canadian cops need horses. Horses sort a crowd out real quick. Handled the dallas gathering last week.... handles mardi gras every year, spring break, etc. The crowd sees one dumbass catch a hoof to the chest and the party is over for tens of thousands.

1. They are rioting because the Vancouver Canucks lost in game 7 of the Finals to the Bruins.
