Anyone used a Korg Zero8? I have a chance to grab a used one at $700, which seams like a steal. I'm interested in it primarily because it looks like a decent interface for production, but it's also Traktor Certified and I'm interested in moving towards a digital vinyl setup (my Xponent was fun for a bit, but I never feel comfortable trying a friends CDJ's, let alone turntables).
I've heard that there can be noise issues with the earlier ones, but since this ones used I'd imagine that issue would have already come up if it was going to.

Re: Korg Zero8 - Thoughts
I've got one, newer issue, still a bit of noise. As a soundcard it sucks IMO. However it is fine for DJ-ing.
Not very studio friendly and the drivers suck if you are windows 7.
Cool if you just wanna use it as a fancy DJ mixer, otherwise not so much.
My honest opinion, good for dj-ing, not for production.

Re: Korg Zero8 - Thoughts
Just figured I'd update this incase someone else ends up looking at them.
Recently mine has had touchscreen problems, which is frustrating. It turns out it's because the powersupply is right beside the touchscreen, and it can burn it out. I managed to replace the touchscreen for cheap ($27 dollars for the part from the local Korg dealers here), although it did take 3 hours. Most of that was unscrewing the massive amounts of screws. You essentially have to take the whole thing apart, including the main PCB board off the frame, but it's really as simple as unplugging the old one and plugging in the new one.
To make sure it doesn't happen again I'm installing 2 70mm x 15mm fans on either side of the case. On the left side it blows air into the case, and on the right side (by the power supply) it sucks air out. I'm also installing a third 40mm x 10mm fan sucking air out on the right side, just under the touchscreen. If anyone wants pictures, let me know and I can take a couple while I'm inside.
Also, I agree, it's pretty sweet if you wanna do an Ableton Live set, but it does have some subtle background noise which is frustrating for production. As a Traktor interface it's nice, especially given the huge amount of effects on the touchscreen, but unless you can grab it for under $1000 I'd save the money and get a DJ mixer, and then use the DJ10 or w/e for production.

Yeah if you could do us a couple of pics of your mod that would be sweet. I was thinking about doing something similar but I was told there may be issues with the fans interfering with the audio in some way, so give us a shout on how it goes down for you.
