Arkist - Trapped in Tivoli / Little Red FireWerk
DecaRhythm - DECA007
Freshly returned from his second US tour Arkist returns with more of his unique and ever strengthening sound for his long awaited second DecaRhythm single.
A: Trapped in Tivoli
With its beautifully crafted percussive steps and deep atmospheric chords this track grows from its sparse, textural intro into a absolute floor smasher. The punchy dynamics and outstanding production quality give this track a sheen that has come to be expected from all of Arkist's work an outstanding piece of music that we are proud to have in our catalogue.
B: Little Red FireWerk
An 11 Minute exploration of electronica is the only way to describe this track. Arkist has certainly been getting some much deserved acclaim amongst listeners and fellow producers alike and this track shows why. With its varying organic textures and alternating synths bouncing off each other stapled together with clean percussion the track moves through several different stages of calculated and intense ideas that have been brought to excellent form.
From Boomkat:
Deftly techy, deeper atmospheric Dubstep/Wot U Call it? fresh out out Bristol. Leading from his link with Komanazmuk on If Symptoms Persist, and a slick outing on Deca Rhythm, 'Trapped In Tivoli' comes across like a limber, double timed version of Distance's lumbering sound, largely due to that choppy guitar riff running under slick 2-step drums. 'Little Red Firewerk' drops the tempo to an Acid House jack, but the surface detailing belies adrker sense of modern rave psychedelics.
