Jungle Bass sounds

Post by Bledbox » Tue Jun 21, 2011 11:05 pm

Hey guys, been a while since I've been on here. Been making some jungley stuff recently. Got some really cool ideas but need to make some of my sounds more interesting. Mostly working with straight up sine waves to give that harsh bass stab.

Looking to mix up the sounds a little and get something similar to a lot of the sounds Serum uses. Will post some examples, got a few ideas myself but need to go to bed, so id anyone has anything to contribute then go ahead :)

These sort of sounds, love the movement on them!

The Basic wobble bass

Ohmicide will be used for the "trash" factor afterward

The sound in Sub Focus's new track.

Post by mdubz » Wed Jun 22, 2011 1:26 am

I'm having a hard time replicating the sound at :45.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtFSjaxUdVs

This track also has a similar sound, though less dramatic at 1:15.

I'm not talking about the skrillex/Doctor P yo yo. It sounds like he's modulating something other than filter frequency. I've tried a bunch of stuff. At first I was thinking formant but that's not it. Any help is appreciated.

if you want a more obese artery clogging sound turn the unisono up in the voicing tab. (massive)
<keep it heavy>

Sounds like a phaser modulating the bass..
Make some simple lfo in massive, go to the effects on the side and activate the phaser mono or phaser and tweak with that..
Then for some extra grit use the parabolic shaper and maybe a little bit of bitcrush...
Run it though an instance of Ohmicide or destortion of your choosing and POW :h:

MRK1 - Frank bass patch I was attempting to replicate...

Here's my quick shot at it. Threw in kick/snare for good measure.
Constructive criticism appreciated

Tracks not out yet.

Closest I've gotten using massive was with the dimension expander. Messed around with the phaser fxs for a good while and didn't get anything remotely close.

Anyone else have any ideas? I think this is pretty straight forward to make just need the right parameter.

I would think with his next album. He started playing it in March so it might be a while.

Trying to replicate some Noisia sounds.

Post by Nyyx » Wed Jun 22, 2011 5:31 am

Ok, SO. I've actually posted this video before, but it's just filled with sounds that I would like to know how to make. So if any of you would be so kind as to help, that would be fantastic. Thank you endless.

Sound 1: The whistling sound as the underwater train flies by at 0:24.

Sound 2: The "Choir Pad" at around 1:00. Sounds like angel sex.

Sound 3: The sound as the robots ion cannon powers up at 3:05. And also the actual blasting of said cannon would be phenomenal.

Prepare your anus.

It's going to be impossible for us to tell you exactly how to get these sounds. The best way to learn is to just experiment.

The whistling noise could be anything, it's probably a recording of a bunch of shit put together.

The choir things could be many things. Could be a professionally done choir recording, could be a vocoded version of someone saying "ahhhhhhh", etc.

The cannon noise is just a wobble bass that has been processed and shit.
