First attempt ever.

Post by Erikk » Wed Jun 22, 2011 7:43 pm

Hey everyone, my names Erik.
Though im new to electronic production, ive always had a passion for music.
This is my first try putting an actual song together.. rather than diddling around with setting to find sounds..
Im using FL Studio and ive only had the program for maybe 2 months.. So please dont be too harsh ^^
If you could please give me some helpful feedback id appreciate it. :]

EDIT: this is definitely a work in progress.. i intend to add ALOT to this piece.

BADASS USE OF REVERB ON THE BASS

yeah bro i just set the reverb to a reverse preset.^^
i was thinking of making a bass with one forwards+reverb and
a backwards at the same time to give it that double warpish sound :P

I like the bass that goes up until 0:55, and the bass after that goes BWEEOW.

Potential ;)

Dude, nice reverb effect on that snare, it adds a whole other percussion instrument and it's nice.

Good first attempt dude.

nice start man! nice simple melody. i'd drop the levels on the bass after it kicks in its kinda drowning out everything. also, try adding different tonal layers in your hihat work to fill in the gaps in between with a shuffling syncopation. overall your in the right direction.if you personally are having uncertainties about a part of your track or the whole thing in general, others probably will to. just work at the parts one section at a time an you'll have one layered, perfected piece. if you have questions or need some tips man, hit me up.
what is this world coming to?

Jeah man! sounds great overall! And like it sayd before: I would also like a little bit more excitement on the drums.
Try to add some open hihats at the last bars/notes or how you call it... make some nice patterns with it.
But its sure a really nice first attempt!!!

I heard worse and it even wasn't their first attempt :)

Cheers!
