I know skrillex isnt really well liked around here. but ive been trying to figure out how to make the high pitched sound after the drop that sounds sort of mechanical.
The patch I posted earlier should be pretty close. http://www.sendspace.com/file/bcoi4t Play F4 and there you go
It's for massive
EDIT: This is the same sound that is at the drop of Still getting it by Foreign Beggars feat Skrillex. Play f4, and u have it
Thanks!
Can you explain what type of stuff you did? I don't have Massive, but I think I can do it in Sytrus (FM). Anything special?
I only used one oscillator, a formant saw. Tuned it down two octaves, and put an envelope on the intensity, with a medium/short attack, so that it kind of "opens" up.
Put two effects on it, tele tube and dimension expander. Oh, btw, there is an option in massive, how many voices are playing, i put it to 10. It will sound quite poor with only one voice.
I hope I expained it well enough so that you can recreate it in sytrus
aka blinkesko Soundcloud Jesus Loves Electro - Burning Love (Augment remix)
Anyone know how to emulate those phasey sawtooths in Joker's tracks? It's almost like they're tearing apart at the seams, like it's being ripped through really crisply, it's quite prominent about 47 seconds into this;
Could just be exquisite mixing & mastering though.
with the patch he posted, its just a saw wave tuned down 2 octaves. An envelope with with delayed attack linked to the intensity. A teletube and dimension expander on it.

Sytrus works way differently than Massive so I ended up just fucking with shit until I got somewhat close. This is what I got:
anyone know how cloaks get their distortion sound?
tried resampling over and over but it never sounds right
these guys are the boss of this sort of stuff

Now, anyone want to venture a guess at the riser that's been in every rap song for the last few months: at 15 seconds. I'm thinking maelstrom or thor could do it with an LFO that's kind of stepped assigned to filter pitch?
Came here to post this. Anyone know?
That's a signature sound used by Lex Luger, the guy who produced the beat, google Lex Luger Drum Kit and there'll be a sample of it, although i don't think it's a particularly complex sound to make, probably a ramp shape modulator in malstrom assigned to OSC Pitch, set rate to like 1 bar or sum shit, sometimes it's gated as well.
I dl'd his drum kit, don't think it was in it. but yeah ill give it a whack this evening if i get done with my housework and post my results. #easymode
The absolutely fucking MASSIVE bass at :32 the most i could get him to say was that he used malstrom haha but any ideas? (Reason 5)
im pretty good friends with marcus I can ask him but I don't like bothering him about sound design more of mixdowns but i'll see what I can do. he says he uses the spread parameter alot which is in malstrom he could be using 2 instances as well and a few scream 4 distortions but that is a very blunt answer will try to provide more if I can.

U can compare it with the synth from for example Still Gettin It
that is actually really accurate imo good job. and also I provided some info on how to get the Scary monsters and nice sprites lead it's just a preset in Sylenth1 tweaked slightly chad you could just check it out and look at how the preset is designed then take that over into reason. also that track you are working on chad the intro sounds good maybe some better drum samples or more of them layered and more eq'n and it would be solid but the basslines killed it for me, they weren't that impressive only one of them sounded good but that is just subjective you don't have to change them if you don't want to. im just one person, im sure there is plenty of other people who would enjoy that
From about 2 mins onwards where there is kinda almost a pause in between the bassline to give that kinda trip hop/hip hop feel, is there a specific name for that kinda thing? Or anyone that makes tunes in that kinda similar style? Hard to explain what i actually mean but hopefully someone gets it.
