[LEEDS] 01.07 - Paper Tiger LIVE EP Launch @ The Library

Post by stop_hammertime01 » Mon Jun 27, 2011 9:46 am

360 Club & Funkywormhole present...

Paper Tiger Live - FULL LIVE BAND - dubstep / garage / bass / hip-hop

"Oh my god, this tune is ridiculous!!" - Mistajam (BBC Radio 1xtra)..

"...impossible to stand still to. A truly innovative act..." - Counterfeit Magazine

"Pure fire!" - Charlie Dark (Blacktronica/Attica Blues)

With a few free releases here and there, plus remixes for DELS (Big Dada), Sneaky (Big Chill), Stac (Wah Wah 45s), Dark Sky (Black Acre), Submotion Orchestra (Exceptional), The Invisible (Accidental) and more, Paper Tiger are now finally ready to present their debut EP. It combines elements of hip-hop, electronic/bass music, live performance and loads of other lovely things. The lead track also features a guest vocal from LA-based Dudley Perkins, famous for his work with Madlib, Flying Lotus, Georgia-Anne Muldrow and Oh No.

This show will be a fully live, uninterrupted mix of spaced-out garage, broken beat, dubstep and more: no sequencers or backing tracks, just furious pushing of buttons and flailing of limbs. The band have played with: Hextatic, Dam Funk (Stones Throw), Jaga Jazzist (Ninja Tune/Norway), The Heatwave (Rinse FM), The Bug and Warrior Queen (Ninja Tune/Hyperdub), Rustie (Warp), Tokimonsta (Brainfeeder), Nightmares On Wax, The Herbaliser (Ninja Tune), TM Juke & Alice Russell, The Bays, Bonobo, Krafty Kuts, Freq Nasty, Mary-Anne Hobbs (Radio 1), Benji B (1xtra), Daedelus (Mush), Gaslamp Killer (Brainfeeder), as well at loads of festivals across Europe... They have also received support from Radio 1, 1xtra, Radio Leeds and several internet/pirate radio stations.

"Undoubtedly the night's show-stealers... joyous, genre-annhilating." - Daily Star
"A rare and unexpected gem. Technically brilliant...a diverse and refreshing journey through modern music." - CityLifers Magazine
"Absolutely sick!" - Gaslamp Killer (Brainfeeder, LA)
"...the unreserved success of the night, with their lyrical quips and infectious beats..." - Leeds Student

They've also handpicked a supporting cast for your listening pleasure, including BAMBOOMAN (Room 237) and RESPITE (LuckyMe). It's only £5 as well, a bargain!
