No I understand what youre saying, though i dont really know all the right definitions etc. The progression gives a sort of suspense, but it depends on what kind of suspense you want. Chad, if you feel like thatll make a good drop then just fucking do it and dont listen to buttmonkeys saying you cant do this or that. Music is supposed to be creative, and creativity needs different standpoints so my word to you is to keep experimenting, and, if you polish a tune real nice with this kind of drop, and its f''in amazing, then its a big fuck you to all the haters, so just keep making tracks dude.

Drops have got nothing to do with melodies, especially towards the end of the first bar.
