Re: Luther
Yeah Gatehouse was one of the most chilling characters I've seen on TV recently. Brilliantly portrayed by Stephen Rea..onelove. wrote:Really not a fan of Luther, cliche shite trying to pass it's self off as edgy, but...
Would really recommend The Shadow Line. Very slowed paced and the dialogue is horrendously cringeworthy at times. But the atmosphere and direction is fantastic. Sound design really good as well. Very tense scenes in places, especially when Stephen Rea is on screen as his character is dark as fuck. Best drama I've seen on BBC for years though, definitely.danrev wrote:did anyone watch the shadow line aswell?
heard it started weak but had a sick ending.
Still not up to HBO standard tho....
I made a thread after the first episode, think it had about 2 replies!
Re: Luther
despite the last episode feeling like it was just tying loads of stuff off the allow the new storyline to grow, i still reckon its one of the best cop dramas iv seen come out of the beeb.

I only caught it after it'd finished on playback, watched it all in about two sittings.nclpad wrote:Yeah Gatehouse was one of the most chilling characters I've seen on TV recently. Can see why it may have gotten poor ratings, slow paced and if you missing an episode or two you'd have absolutely no chance of following the plot.
Really hope they commission more like that though, even if it's only one every half a year or so.
