Akai MPK Pads

Post by ridethecliche » Wed Jun 29, 2011 5:23 pm

Has anyone had issues with the pads?

They're stiff as boards and nowhere near as responsive as I would have liked. Has anyone made modifications to them to get them to respond to a lighter touch or for a more tactile feel?

Thanks!

Yes, do a search for the terms mpk and pad you will likely turn up several useful threads.

Ah, blah. I was using the wrong search terms.

If I have a warranty issue, I'd just swap them out for the originals.

I bought it used anyway, so I don't think the warranty applies...

^^^ I'd do that to but they know if you've opened it up I think, can anyone clear that up? Well at least that's how my playstation was. But yeah the stock pads are pretty much useless unless u have full level on.

After using mine for a month or two, with some good hard maintenance "usage" :cornlol: and going into the settings menu to change the sensitivity, they were a lot better than they were when I first got my MPK49. I have a hard time not hitting them too hard and maxing out the velocity on them in FL when I'm laying down a drum track nowadays.

did you have to go into the vyvex editor to change the velocity? can you explain how you did it?

Never used vyvex editor, looking into it tho. All I did was hit GLOBAL, scroll right to page 4 (Pad Sens), then turned the sensitivity up to 16. Hope this helps :t:
