Yeah, you probably wouldn't 'plaster' your stuff up here because you're frightened you'll get shut down and taken the piss out for 3 pages if it isn't good enough. Maybe if you knew you were gonna get proper constructive feedback you would post up your early beats and learn quicker.
No, it's not because I'm frightened I just don't think it's that great yet.

Granted, I don't like the music, but I have actually listened to alot of metal, not in this style, but I do even like a couple of Slipknot tracks so what you wanna kill me now? Grow up!

Yes, the production quality isn't great, and in my opinion stylisticly not great either, the lyrics ARE often laughable, and it's a blantent assult of noise alot of the time which is unpallatable to most peoples ears.

Even though I wouldn't listen to it, I'ld rather look on the positives, atleast there's something going on in it! There are verses, choruses, different sections and even chord changes, the guys can obviously play their instruments to a certain level, and the rythems switch up every so often... more than you can say for alot of shit that half you lot shutting this guy down probably make, or probably don't make because you can't even write music.

Just makes me a little pissed off when a bunch of people actually go to creative lengths to put someone else down, just for trying to be creative and bringing music to people. Even if it's not to your taste. That to me is the real triple face palm moment here.
Slipknot are the Skrillex of metal

Slipknot are the Skrillex of metal
No they aren't

Really aside front the childish lyrics and vocal delivery they honestly aren't that bad
Instrumentally this is pretty good. Percussion is wicked

There are so much many worse metal bands than slipknot.

If you're gonna compare slipknot to dubstep they'd be vaguely listenable to early brosteppy shit. Stupid and over the top and a little lame but still a bit of energy and fun to the music.

I can't even think of metal bad enough to be the equivilent of skrillex.

bring me the horizon are the skrillex of metal... came out of nowhere and loads of kids jumped on them/it, old metal heads thought it was shit and it spawned many of clones all the same... slipknot are decent.. dont listen to them on the regs but i did when i was a kid and they were alright. obviously now i prefer stuff like meshuggah but there is so much worse than slipknot.

Ahh yeah that's right, Bring Me The Horizon. That's on the way there. Awful music. Terrible image being thrust at you constantly. poser band wagon jumping fans.

It's like safe music for little kids to try rebel through. Like the whole "maate Skrillex is so meeeental!" thing going on.

But wolf89, you joined this forum in 2009, I joined in 2006, three years before you. So what, I should call you a bandwagon jumper because you the managed to join the biggest forum for the genre you DJ so late in that genres development?

No, I don't care when you got involved, or even what music you're into. If someone's a nice guy they get my respect regardless of what they listen to or make.

Don't get me wrong, I too get annoyed when a lot of the music attached to a certain genre goes so far in the opposite direction to what sound you're reppin that you don't even know if you have anything to do with it anymore.

But the difference is I don't bitch and whine about it all the time in a forum where everyone feels the need to mention Skrillex 10 times a thread because their jelous an American metaller learnt how to make everyone go mental to wobbles, is absolutely fucking caining it, and rinsing all you lot for what he earns and gets out of it.

Moaning about people moaning is just as annoying.

I know, I know, the irony, the irony.

:D Haha, I know.

I get where you're coming from, but when I see negative comments, I can just skip over them, don't need to protect the person they're moaning about. For example, if I don't want to read about people slating Skrillex, I know to stay out of a thread about Skrillex (the guy is of no interest to me anyway).

thats how this forum rolls homie...

there are a lot of us with the same opinion, and we voice it due the like mindedness of ourselves
i dont see what your problem is? if this forum were full of 'brosteppers' then it would be exactly the same, but the opinions would be the opposite. its a cruel here at dsf when things labeled as dubstep, aren't dubstep. i'd be like going to a minimal house forum and saying Jack Beats is minimal,it just isn't...

Firstly it doesn't matter when someone got into the music.

Secondly I got into dubstep around 2005.
Just never joined the forum. Got into forums later than dubstep. Hahaha.

Well it probably feels awful. But isn't that telling you something? Maybe the idea of bashing metal and dubstep together should be left alone? Because in this case it clearly doesn't work or sound good. I like (some) metal. I like Dubstep but mixing them together sounds shit and always has done. Please post a link if you think otherwise I'd like to hear something that works. I'm an open minded person but it's normally boring generic metal with boring generic dubstep.

It might work if say The Deftones made a track with Mala / DMZ because both of those artists are highly respected in their own scenes and have the capacity to make something actually interesting whilst being able to keep their own integrity.

Yes haha. Ok so their newer output isn't as great as their earlier stuff but as they have incorparated some elements of electronic sounds and DJing I thought it would be far more interesting than the OP music. Plus Chino doesn't always need to shout all the time.

Machine Head then?

This demonstrates they can cover a hip hop track pretty well:

Lets hear some your ideal collaborations and why they might work :W:

Ideal metal/dubstep collabs...hmmm.
Dark Funeral/Old Man's Child meets Distance/Kryptic Minds
Necrophagist meets Vex'd
Meshuggah meets Goth Trad
Dimmu meets Antisocial (obviously not thematicaly compatible but think of the sounds! Silkie on a darker more orchestral tip...)

No they aren't.

They should be though. White pony is so good.

Also vocally it would work over something like Kryptic Minds.

This man got the know how.

Around the Fur. Winner.

Agreed Chino over Kryptic Minds would sound sick. I've been wanting to get my hands on some acapellas for ages.

I don't have any opinion on metal and dubstep hybrids (I generally don't rate metal) so I'm not going to comment on that. Threads like these just make me think about how confused and shocked these people must get when they get ripped to pieces for posting dumb noob shit here. We should probably just send them over to the UKF forum or something.

I quite liked it. But the only metal experience I have is my years of listening to such artists like Unexpect, Xandira, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Falkenbach, Eddie Kim, Escape the Fate, and Alestorm :4:
