Layer kicks. Transient shaper too. Fruity Waveshaper should do it.

Nah man, I didn't want to come across like that. I just didn't want to patronize you. I'm glad to help.LucazMusik wrote:Im sorry i dont have as much knowledge as you , sir.jrisreal wrote:dont think he's joking man I think he's pretty new to this. Here's probably the best one for drumwork I've ever seen. It's for drum&bass, but you can elaborate and develop your own tricks from there:
A few personal things. I boost around 85hz to 110hz and roll off down at 70hz. I use a parametric EQ to cut out mid-frequencies. Then compress, then re-EQ.
As a rule of thumb, I keep the kicks in mono. Same for anything under 200hz.
Just a few things I do. Hope this helped.
Yeah I know chase and status are absolutely shit now. But this tutorial WORKS!

Re: Having trouble getting my kick drum to sound "FAT" , HEL
SIDECHAIN SIDECHAIN SIDECHAIN! If you dont know what sidechaining is its basicly every time the kick hits the bass will dip in volume, (very fast). Becuase the kick drum and the bass are fighting for the same frequencies (100hz ish) the kick drum is never going to sound "fat" as the bass is covering it. Sidechaining will also help you alot at the mixing down stage, you can also sidechain your snare too. A tip alot of producers use is to side chain an hi hat (on mute) everytime the kicks hits, as the hihat is alot shorter than the kick meaning the punch of the kick will be let through. good luck pal! x

whoever said your kicks are weak maybe not know what this is...
the weak here is your bass in the bass...

try looking in C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins\ that's where it installed mine, had to move the DLLs to make it workjrisreal wrote:just look on google. its free (but for some reason, won't show up in my library >:-(LucazMusik wrote:I got a demo , im using fl studio , where can i get flux bittersweet from?jrisreal wrote:did you buy it or get the demo? it looks pretty good to me, but silence one every ten seconds is a no go. try flux bittersweet.
also the eq'ing. well what daw are you in? does it have a native eq? probably so use that one and boost the lows and highs and lower the mids

This isn't really on-topic, but don't want to clutter the forum with yet another topic:
Regarding FL studio, are there any proper vsti's to use for creating your drum(line)s? Or do most just use the step sequencer in fl studio?

My english teacher gave me a weird look when I mentioned that as the musical instrument I played. Like the wtf stare. I had to give her the 'wiki wiki' dj motion to confirm what i meant.

I use FPC for drum programming. It enables me to "humanize" my hits without too much switching, and then link all of them to separate mixer tracks.v-lash wrote:This isn't really on-topic, but don't want to clutter the forum with yet another topic:

Drummax lets you make drum sounds if that's what you meant?
And I think Lucaz is the next Ajapai. That tune is fucking dope man!
