yup.. freakin awesome. First off thank you for showing me someone new to listen too. I went to his soundcloud and was reading the comments on his songs (he responds to all of them) and saw that he liked some dubstep songs from a guy that posted on one of his songs, so i looked into his profile and found this
Soundcloud =D. look up ¨88 Flak¨ on soundcloud if you like Danny Beall and ChadDub.

The Widdler.
I can listen to his album Origin forever.
I want to know where he gets his instrument (strings and horns) samples from! >.<
This dude changed the way I look at dubstep.

He did an amazing q&a here last year actually! He uses Reason for all his instruments. Most of the strings, horns and vibes are stock.

I can't tell you how many times I've stayed up all night reading that thread and listening to Origin

Well hey haha, first off thanks for bringin some bad ass music to my ears and skrillix is fantastic but hes so mainstream! I cant help but lean more towards less popular producers that in my opinion could have just as much talent. =P

Here come the haters.
I'll admit Skrillex is a decent producer... he is famous for a reason... not just for the haircut and nerd glasses.
On a side note- he can't DJ worth shit. Seen him twice... his song transitions are god awful. I remember he played Ludacris - Move Bitch and I felt like I was at a high school dance... I know he doesn't claim to be only dubstep but I mean COME ON...
Mentioning Skrillex's name on this forum is like talking about religion in a college philosophy class... madness ensues.

I really love listening to Skrillex. He makes good party music.
Now, if I wanted to listen to some meaningful deep minded music I'd listen to something like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMfM7Di3 ... ideo_title
But for just jamming out with the bros I'll take Skrillex.

The Widdler would have my vote. His album Origin made me completely rethink dubstep as a genre, and it taught me a valuable lesson that just because dubstep can sound "cool" when it sounds like transformers farting, there is a whole different approach one can take to create more soulful music in the genre and even outside of it. His music sounds amazing to me, and his production skills leave me stunned everytime his tracks come on.
