Lol, remember that thread where Zomby raged because there was some guy calling himself Steve Zombie or something. Imagine how hard he'd rage at Zomboy.

It seems our opinions are only valid aslong as they are not against the event/promoters. This is exactly the same as us ''preaching'' our opinions on who should be voted for. Why is our negativity not allowed, when we see other peoples opinions as being negative. Opinions are opinions whether their our or ''the kids''.

I dont think i've ever seen a club night charge 30quid for a night......even if it does have ''25'' top artists. If you have 30quid to spend on entry to an event......you have too much money. Im also not sure what other genres charge more than that for one act....except like U2 etc at Wembley arena etc.

We know exactly who is going to win the awards in exactly the same way the DSF award are as set in stone as the sun rising.

I wonder if anyone in room 2 will win anything

It will the dubstep awards where youngsta won't win best dj... there will almost certainly be no mention of mala, madd, Jkenzo, ramadanman, djg, icicle, kryptic minds, silkie, kromestar, pinch etc etc,

no mention of deep medi, dmz, black box/box clever, osiris, chestplate, subway etc etc... best label will probably go to chronos records seeing as the dubstep fb group loves them so much...

And for those reasons, I'm out.

I didn't think 30 quid was that much but then I researched how much DMZ charged for the 6th Birthday. 15 quid and, MCs included, 25 top artists. Now, I may be incredibly naive, but, I really don't see how you can charge 30 quid when DMZ can do it for half that.

Also, could I propose that you guys take it upon yourselves to give people like Horsepower, Digital Mystikz, Big Apple Guys, FWD etc. recognition in the awards ceremony because they sure as hell aren't going to get it from votes.

You sell CD's labelled This Is Dubstep which used to support all walks of Dubstep until it became popular, I dont think its ok to slam another company just cos they are doing something they wanna do. The CD's are clearly stated "GETDARKER presents THIS IS DUBSTEP"......There's a HUGE difference in what you've stated.

Therefore, its a 'GetDarker opinion' of Dubstep in regards to a compilation...

Read my original points again; my point I raised is that running "THE dubstep awards" is something I dont agree with. Nothing against the people behind it.
The CD is called "This is Dubstep" bro, if its Get Darkers view on Dubstep fair enough but its called THIS is Dubstep... Kind of playing with words here because if its your view or next mans you still call it THIS which says to me this is what Dubstep is. So you just have a problem with the word THE?! Unless I’ve missed something I read it as DMA Dubstep Music awards… Its clearly DMA’s awards as its branded all over the place! Man my main point was I was gutted to read your comment and I still am but your points fair and as I clearly wrote twice its not to offend you or Get Darker as I’ve clearly stated I’ve fully supported you for many years but I think a company that basis's its name around the word Dubstep can’t really have a go at another company also using the same word but adding a The.... Again Lee I dont mean to offend, was never my point but just surprised you were so vocal about it considering your companies name.
seckle wrote:coki, plastician and chef in room 2, not room 1, and not headliners on the flyer........? really?
Because whether you like it or not the room 1 DJ’s are more popular, maybe not on this board but shit man its all over radio 1, 1xtra so with that alone can you really not see why they are in room 1? If you mixed them up what will happen, you get someone like Doc P playing and everyone’s hyped then you drop a deeper artist on them, people wont respond well to that n the worst of the worst could happen n they get boo’d, no one wants to see that. Then again I’ve been to an event where Funtcase n co were on n so was Chef n to be honest Chef completely tore the place to pieces.. Personally I’d be in room 2 half the time, all 3 DJ’s above are too good, pioneers and SHOULD be seen but that’s my opinion, not the masses – they clearly prefer the “jump up” hence why its room 1.

Dude I’m not saying you cant moan but I am saying why on earth have you guys moaned for 19 pages about this?! I keep reading what are your credentials, who are you. It’s a shit idea, Awards are bull, who are you to even start an awards. Do you do this to every event? And on the point of £30 for a ticket, it is expensive when you consider Rinse Vs Fwd was only £15, I’d agree with that but I’ve been to many a DnB rave with +3-4 rooms n its been that much. One day festivals are £60-80.. And to be fair to DMA they have packed a lot of high fee artists in there! I sat here and read every page at work yesterday and just had to say what I said as its like a lynch mob but for silly reasons…. I just didn’t get why everyone jumped on DMA n even after all yoru comments about it being a hype even when its got a room dedicated to the “deeper” side your still not happy?!

Just like with anything in life that people are interested in, they will search and they will find it. Weren’t you all the same, don’t you all seek music? So too will the hype boys n for one example when they find this place n post “Hi I’m new, I love Dubstep & I like Skrillex etc” what happens? They get gunned down HARD, will they ever come back? No. Will they be interesting in finding out more about the “Deeper” side, no cos why would they when the first time they searched they get hence mobbed!

You all know and have known for a long time that I don’t agree with the bulling, it almost amount’s to racism, your different therefore you’re a c@#t... Sad times from a place that preached good qualities and again the reason I stand my ground n say prob what a lot of other artist feel and have been public in saying, funny tho that they then get shot down on here!

The issue is made worse pro’s jump in and do the same the sheep follow.. Maybe the attitudes from the top need to change so the followers take note and don’t follow suit n not bad mouth? I come from both sides of the camp and I have to say I don’t see all the negativity from the “jump Up” lot and would go as far as saying when I've dropped deeper tunes in my sets they have been well recieved, maybe I’m not looking in the right place but tbh why would I? We do a deep 30 on our shows most weeks at the start, most of our followers tend to prefer the hype but when played some deeper stuff like it! I love music, I’m not here to badmouth a scene, if I don’t like something I’m big enough to just not care… Do you see Bill Gates waving the wanker signs to Apple? No cos its just not a professional thing to do and would bring a bad name to his company, same applies to life!

Again I’m sorry if I offend anyone with my views, there are just mine and like your entitled to post you views so am I, I’m not gonna follow everyone else when I don’t agree with them…

lol.. its called get darker presents this is dubstep. it doesnt matter what the compilation is called because its still suggested that its getdarkers views of dubstep. these awards are called THE DUBSTEP AWARDS which suggests it will give a fair and balanced view of the appreciation of all areas of dubstep, which, as most of us will agree, isnt what will happen. its not rocket science mate

How on earth do you know the results mate?! LMAO Just like how you all knew it was only gonna be a hype event...Oh Wait it’s not just hype... Awards are a popularity thing, if hype is more popular then I'm sure that will be reflected, deal with it n stop crying about it! Its the polar oppisite with the DSF awards yet you dont see all the hype heads crying so why do you have to? Reading 19 pages isn’t rocket science either my friend! If you read what I said to Darks that his was a fair point, explained where I came from n my OG point was it was sad to see someone like Darks say what he did... And again I'm reading it as DMA Dubstep awards but I wasn’t hear when it was originally posted so maybe they have changed the name and removed the THE but I'm still entitled to my comments and it still doesn’t hide the TERRIBLE way everyone has acted towards DMA… Nice work!

what are going on about lol? oh its DMA dubstep awards is it now... whats that an abbreviation of?
dubstep music awards dubstep awards? if youd like point out to me where it says the DMA presents
Dubstep Music Awards aywhere then id apologize. to me it seemed like you were saying the "this"
part of this is dubstep is the same as "the" part of the dubstep music awards, completely ignoring the "get darker
presents" part. there is no "XXXX presents" or any equivelent in the dubstep music awards which is
what i was getting at. christ almighty lol...

OMD. you lot are quibbling over whether something has 'PRESENTS' WRITTEN IN FRONT OF A TITLE. IT'S A MINOR TING.

'DUBSTEP MUSIC AWARDS' / 'THIS IS DUBSTEP' / 'DUBSTEP ALLSTARS' and every cunty name with dubstep in is promo/hype. It gets headlines, it gets search results, it minimizes the confusion of the potential purchaser. Every company does it and why not?!

If you're a supposed 'head' you already know where the good shit is. FWD/Rinse/Ammunition, could have called Dubstep Allstars vol 6, ' Thugged out dong music for the badunkadunk trunk', but the heads woulda bought it because we know Appleblim's a badman. Stick Dubstep in the title so all the people that don't know Blim can get in on it, all the people that search google for dubstep, the youtube and facebook massive etc.

I guess people are using the names front to have a pop at the commercialisation of the music you all hold so dear. That ship has sailed. Roll on GetDarker presents 'Now That's what I Call Dubstep Awards' compilation with 15 b2b Skrillex tracks sponsored by Microsoft. I won't get it so why should I give a shit (as in if you ain't going to DMA's why do you care)?!
I make music as Forsaken, you can DL all my unreleased (and a couple released) bits here.

Alright bruva keep ya shirt on, no need to get Christ involved for the words THE or THIS lmao!

Bit of a heavy weekend so the DMA bit didn’t sink in (actually feel a bit silly about that one lol) so apologies for that but my whole point was the hate towards them! Just very very sad n the whole Darks thing was just a comment to him, it wasn’t at all my whole point but thanks for raising the small issue between him and me!! I've already said fair point to Darks response but just didn’t agree with his OG comment, am I allowed to disagree?! It’s a forum mate, I’m sure he aint crying about it?! And again to be fair I’ve checked out the 2011 one and it’s a very good mixture so I’d retract my earlier comment about it not being as mixed, my bad for not checking! Still doesn’t explain why you have to be a deep in the scene head to start something though, no new people allowed or have the right to start anything like this? Silly… Shame my points on my OG post have been forgotten to argue about the THIS & THE but there we go!

All I'm trying to say is the way in which you all lynch them isn’t a good look. I have no idea who they are but if they wanna start an awards night let them do it. What do you think DSF awards will carry on until it hits MTV?! Big companies always come in to do shiz like this, don’t see the problem tbh but more to the point you will not be able to stop it! It just seems typical of this place n I guess its that thats saddened me that its all turned into this hence why I will point it out if its not fair which these last 19 pages haven’t been. Can you really stand there n say all this is ok, actually going onto their FB page n giving them shit, demanding information from them?

I don’t care about DMA Pete just the shit attitude of some users on here n how bad it looks!

I probably wouldn't have beef with these awards if they weren't presented in a NOW THATS WHAT I CALL DUBSTEP MUSIC, YO, ALL 16 YEAR OLDS ROUND UP, WITH A TINT OF 'URBAN', style.

The way you've presented this whole shitstorm is offensive. The DSF awards got plenty of abuse at the time, but at least they were presented in a slightly tongue-in-cheek way. You're basically a purely commercial operation but you are ashamed to admit it.

It's rare to see 6 headliners for under a tenner.. You're getting a lot for your money and we're already selling tickets which shows people agree to the price.
I recently went to a night that cost £3 to get in, line up was:

Phaeleh
Appleblim
Wedge
Gatekeeper
Komonazmuk
Swarms
Kloudbreak
Fred V & Grafix

Plus 8 resident DJs. For £3. And all profit went to charity.

A little while later I went to Subloaded, where the line up was:

Photek
Kode9
Pinch
Youngsta
Jakes
Gemmy
Peverelist
Blazey
Dubkasm ft Solo Banton
Vibronics
Manasseh
Gorgon Sound
Bristol Reggae Society
Sticky
Atki
Dub Boy
Ironside

There's some pretty big names on that line up, and that was only a tenner.

So who ever wins "Best DJ" at this event is the best DJ in Dubstep right?
.....Absolutely not.

it could have been far more credible.
