@damnclamjam thanks man i know that my track is far from finished but positive feedbacl keeps me focused to make it better to your track the basssounds themselve sound good but they are way to far in the background so what you can do is either raise the volume to a nice loudness or compress the bass sounds and then raise the volume ;this has definetly big potential :W: i would start with the part from 1 22 on
fucking simple but really nice and then come to the more complex wobbles

@nylle really good wip wrote you in soundcloud only thing you can think about is which way you want to go with it keep it minimal or add some more atmosphere to it could be voice could be pads or samples but both ways are possible , cant give you feedback on production sounds really clean imo :W:

@budspencertron - this has serious melody, im a sucker for a catchy melody
@nylle - that sub bass is so deep and clean, the minimal drum beats fit great, id just add some ambient sounds in there to add to the atmospheric feel!
@blanx the wobble at 1.17, really like the overdriven sound, i personally would have more of that wobble, maybe breakdown into a solid melody? just a suggestion :)

heres an update on my wip i posted a few days ago..

This isn't entirely dubstep. For the most part it's more of a progressive house track, but I blended in a lot of dubstep elements. Mostly I'm looking for mixing and mastering advice, but any feedback is appreciated. Soundcloud

Hehe yeah that would be me, bigup guys! I assume the bass synth at 30 seconds in, it's the same synth as the drop synth but reversed with some extra effects on it :)

I liked your track btw, imo you could get some more swing in the bass arrangement , would give more power to your track.

- Kes-es: Cheers man, don't let me demotivate you by any means bro ;) keep on going. You were right about the mixdown, had alot of work clearing that up lol. I can't toss you a 320 though, track'll be on my next EP probably :)

@ quasi118 and itscrockett, you have to give feedback to receive it or else this thread would never work

@Quasi118 - Remember to post three pieces of feedback on other artists' tunes!! Anyway, I like your tune, but it does need a lot of work. First off I reckon your drums are way too low in the mix post-drop. Turn the synths down and the overall volume of the tune up when you master it to avoid any distortion on the drums. You could also just group and sidechain compress the synths with the drums (so the synths come down in volume when the drums hit), although that could sound a little odd considering the speed of the tune. Give it a go though.

Secondly, your synths have almost no sub in them, which definitely needs sorting. How to do this kinda depends on the kind of synths your using and your chosen DAW, but duplicating your synth, pitching it down or filtering out everything above around 150Hz and getting a good mix between the low synth and the original works fine. Looking forward to hearing more of this :)

@ItsCrockett - Same with you man - remember to post three pieces of feedback on other artists' tunes!! I reckon your tune is pretty much done man. Sounding cool. I reckon the snare could be a tiny bit more prominent in the mix, and the compression and/or limiting on the Master channel is way too much. Apart from that, I reckon you've got that tune sorted :)

@take2 - This thread is only for unfinished tracks and you also have to post 3 pieces of feedback to legitimately expect some back. That said, I do quite like that third tune :)

Considering noone is following the rules here I am not even going to bother putting feedback on those people's tunes.

@ LukeRaith;
Those notes are perfect tbh, I don't know why you cut it up in 5 different pieces tho, but it works and it flows greatly.
I love the change in notes. Great track mate, props, definitely want to hear more from you!

@ Damnclamjam;
Nice dark atmos, tho I can hear it's just a pre-made pad, tweak it around a bit so it has your kind of flow.
Nice first attempt tho, those drums are pretty good for a first timer. That wobble that kicks in at 1:27 is fat honestly, tweak it up, change rates more often and it could give alot more swag to your track. (personally)

@ BudSpencertron;
That one has quite some movement, really like the variation in that wobble. Sounds a bit like Datsik being to lazy to go all apeshit on a track. (in a positive way tho)

@ Sifty;
Lovely pad, those little hats support it nicely.
Those strings (?) fit perfectly, creating the emotion of that track imo. Drums could be a bit louder tho and I'm not really hearing nor feeling a lot of bass.
If you turn those drums a bit more up it would be a really good track man, props!

I normally give a lot more feedback but considering some people weren't following the rules it's just you 4 :D

This is something I've been working on the past week. Finished it today, however I personally feel that there is something wrong with the bass/subbass.
Any pointers in ANY direction would be greatly appreciated!

@cubicle thanks man did you try to compress the sub just al little bit more or get a spectrum analyser and watch the frequency follow with the eq and then just a little bit of compression

that's kinda harsh. maybe a couple people aren't following the rules (new maybe) but that doesnt mean everyone isnt :roll:

@Cubicle It is most jazzy-feel dubstep I have ever heard. probably because of piano, and in 3:32 i noticed something wrong with melody, but i cant exactly say what.

@Take5 firework dubstep is good, but I think there should be some buildup, before drop, and little bit deeper bass.

@quasi Really wild, buildup is veeery good, but when drops, it needs some kind of more typpical and lower bassline.

My song was supposed to be remix, but it is entirely different from original.

here is my first dubstep, that is still not finished

Well if they do not give feedback to others, i'm not giving feedback to them neither. It ain't harsh, it's just the rules, I still give feedback to people giving others feedback mate. I think you kind of misread my sentence.

Thanks Jake and Sunshaft, sorry i'm new to these forums. I will commence leaving feedback :D

@Sunshaft loving the mellow feel to the tune altho the bass could be a little heavier, maybe add some distortion.

@Cubicle nice feel to the tune altho i think there could be more emphasis on the beat aswell as the bass. love the pads and synths tho, nice wor

@Blanx absolutely love your tune :D would be good to do a collab with you,i got some good ideas to pass on

@Limenode great tune m8 altho the bass seems to be distorting too much. try to compress it down a bit and take out some of the high freq's
