what sort of melodies are you trying to make? little stabs like in my tune? or chord progression? the best way to build up a melody so it doesn't get boring is play LOADS with automating certain things in the synth. for instance the decay filter envelope amount reverb delay filter frequency even a chorus effect has a nice touch to make it sound bigger. also use unison with about 2 voices, also playing with an EQ on the synth once it's all arranged can really make a big difference in the way the melody sounds. another good tip with delay on a melody is to add 2 different delays and pan one about 20% to the left, then another 20% to the right and add different amounts of delay itself. also try pitching up the semi to 5 or 7 to create perfect 5ths and 8ths I think it that's right!! anything specific. you want to know? I was just giving all my knowledge I have learned in the last few months regarding synth work!

Aww thanks man this will be very helpful for me! I usually don't have a problem with detuned bases and drums and such. But getting into the harmonics and stuff is proving to be quiet fun!

no problem dude! yeah the harmonic and chordy side of production is fun! if you don't know about chords just read up on the Internet. sure if you search house chords something will come up! and just remember, pretty much any thing can sound good in terms of melodies, don't be afraid to play around with complicated (not overly) notes! just needs the right percussion for it to flow and give it that bounce !
