I'd do it with some fucking style. Put together a whole mixtape demonstrating the change in style (if there is one) crammed full of new tunes under your new name...push the hell out of it online and IRL, and give a brief bio in which you mention your former moniker. Make people sit the fuck up and take notice with your beats; the new name will then be associated with the good music, and if people are so inclined they can investigate your past.
Ooh I like this answer! I think it would be best to enter the realm as a new alias with a good bunch of tunes ready to go
That way you aren't just entering the world with an empty plate
People will be excited about you right from the start
this is exactly what I was talking about connections for, I dont know where guy above got that i would lose them, I want to redbut with a bigger bang.

well i know you didnt say that, but you mentioned that you had them so its not like your starting over as a fresh producer with no contacts, even though you will have a new name. so whats the problem about how your gonna change your name? if you change your name suddenly or gradually you are still gonna be in the same position, the only thing is, you either change it gradually, or you change it like instantaneous. but i dunno how you would change it slowly cos then your either basic a, and the new alias at the same time, but no one is gonna know you are the new alias until you mention it, stop being basic a and be the new one straight away, but youd still have people not knowing you are your new alias. but you still said that you want to release more underground stuff as your current alias anyway. so im just confused as to what you mean . just make a new soundcloud with your new alias and put tracks you want to be from that alias on there.

ramadanman -> pearson sound has been handled really well, maybe copy how that was done and list yourself as newname aka oldname on listings for a bit and gradually use your new name more as you release new tracks

Wonderful.

Stats on all sides of my music, deep and hyped, have nearly doubled... I like to credit that to me putting more focus on my music as well, but, sure some of it has to do with being more organized and marketed now.

Got 2 releases lined up as well which is a nice look, and they're in areas of music I wouldnt have really tapped otherwise.
