I love pretty much every sport on the planet, regardless of where it is popular, scoring frequency etc...
I think sometimes people are quick to slate a sport, maybe haven't invested enough time in understanding the subtleties of it, get to know the players etc...
English might slate the NBA as just a scoring fest, boring because its just one team scoring after the other repeatedly, whereas in fact imo its all about the defence, the flow and ebb of scoring streaks, how you get to the hole etc....
I think if a lot of americans actually watched some top level football for a sustained period of time, start to understand the intricacies, start noticing particular players unique talents, they MIGHT enjoy it a bit more.

Diving is hardly a factor in football games, yeah its unnecessary but probably only takes up about 30 second out of a 90 minute game. It's just part of the culture of if you get fouled, making sure the referee recognises it. something similar happens to some extent in a lot of sports, like when people in the NBA drive to the bucket with little intention of getting it in, but just to draw the foul instead

fully agree with the above

yea I must say my criticism of basketball and american 'football' is definitely due to ignorance/lack of exposure, in the spirit of 'this is how English view American sports'

anyway I take OP's video and counter with:

what is of value and wisdom for one man seems nonsense to another.

That video shows how good his balance must be, I'm pretty fast (the fastest player on my team anyway), and if I got tripped like that as many times as him in one run, I'd be faceplanting pretty quickly.

last nights womens world cup is prime example of what I hate about soccer and what I love about soccer

Erika took a 4 min injury flop, got stretchered off, and THE SECOND they were out of bounds she hops off, runs around for 10 seconds, and runs back on the field and only gets a yellow card. Shit like that should be instant red card and then people would stop fucking doing it.

The irony being that her little flop resulted in 3 mins injury time and at 2 mins 30 seconds into the injury time the US scored a goal :P.... went to PK's and US wins.

Obviously this is one example of poetic justice, but more often than not, this isn't the result.

No man the real gay shit is UFC. The previews are just dudes knocking each other out with punches, but the real show is them doing that for a second and then rolling around on the ground for twenty minutes.
