Re: Anyone Make Tunes On Trains?
When fl comes out for Droid, I will be. 10 mins there and 10 back.well worth it haha
Re: Anyone Make Tunes On Trains?
Basically, intercity / express trains are normally pretty stush and local / commuter trains are pretty shit. But almost everything in the southeast is commuter or local routes, so almost all the trains are pretty shit.
Back on topic, I commute on a bike, I wonder if I could get anything going on there...

Re: Anyone Make Tunes On Trains?
I ride a train every morning and evening, only for 10 minutes tho. But when I've got meetings far away here in Sweden (Sweden is freakin long), I tend to make me some sounds and some sound designing. And also tons of presets
But I never produce any full tunes, too much going on...

Re: Anyone Make Tunes On Trains?
Not on a train, but I've made (or started/worked on, rather) music in restaurants in the early morning hours, midnight - 2 AM or so. Also in moving vehicles driving at night. It was an odd hobby for a friend and I for a while. At first we had a drum machine+MIDI sequencer, and later used a laptop.
I'm planning on going out alone on a boat this weekend after midnight with a laptop and some headphones. I just want to go a good distance out until I can't see evidence of humanity any more and then fire up a DAW and see what kind of music I make. It has a power source so I can plug the laptop in too. I'd like to take a couple of pieces of hardware instead, but it's too expensive to lose out there, just in case... (I've never driven/been on a boat alone)

That would be so cool, too bad my computer is an obese sonofabitch
I found a way to get piece of mind for years and left the hell alone, turn a deaf ear to the cellular phone
Re: Anyone Make Tunes On Trains?
wow wormcode, talk about adding abit of excitment to your music making process (and danger)
sounds mental!

Re: Anyone Make Tunes On Trains?
traveling all around europe at the moment with a euro rail pass, and whenever there is a plug-in at my seat i take the opportunity to make some tunes with my iPod Touch and BeatMaker. Wishing I had brought a laptop with Ableton...

Considering the same idea soon.

Re: Anyone Make Tunes On Trains?
the lack of audio programs on Android is what's keeping me from taking the plunge and getting a smartphone...someone at Google really needs to fix up that code...jerks.
Re: Anyone Make Tunes On Trains?
Hahaha, it was fun! Honestly also pretty damn creepy, I had to keep taking my headphones off so I could hear what was going on around me. Next time I'm going to take some portable bookshelf speakers so I at least don't have to have headphones on the whole time. I really want to record some sounds out there too, there was all sorts of weird noises, distant foghorns, animals etc.Fbac wrote:wow wormcode, talk about adding abit of excitment to your music making process (and danger)sounds mental!

Re: Anyone Make Tunes On Trains?
On the tube? Don't think I could pull that one of. But I have to travel from London to Leeds/Manchester every so often and those trains are kushty for producing.

You realise Google doesn`t make the apps, people do, right?cloak and dagger wrote:the lack of audio programs on Android is what's keeping me from taking the plunge and getting a smartphone...someone at Google really needs to fix up that code...jerks.
