And no pun was intended there
love ive been using reason for only a year and a half now and i JUST recently figured tha tout

people must think i have a lot of patience when i describe how i work in that software
haha i still always drag wires too :corndance:

idk id rather just drag a wire than click and find which input/output in text. sometimes dragging all the way to the top of your rack can be tedious and right clicking would be better, but if you keep your rack organized and minimize anything your not using its not an issue.

and yeah i love record...i mean its basically just like reason with a few major added features but it works the same so you dont have to relearn how to use anything...also the work flow is easier with the way that it is full screen now and u just use hotkeys to switch from the mixer to the rack to the sequencer. instead of it being 2 windows, the rack not being full screen, and the mixer being part of the rack like it was in reason.

i drag em til there's too many to see anything, then i hide em (L), and still drag and drop. Just gotta try n remember what went where. and collapse all your other devices that may be living in between what you are draggin to and from, that way you don't have much of a distance to travel.

Hi there guys,
i also want to use the best of both worlds, audio and arranging in ableton, while synthesizing in reason. problem is when i launch ableton first in order to rewire reason, it recognizes my midi-keyboard, and reason can't use it anymore. should i simply deactivate my midi in ableton or is there any way of "switching" midi-inputs between the two programs?
thx for ur help!

As far as I know, you'll just have to disable your keyboard in Ableton's preferences.
Then if you want to use it in live, you'll have to re-enable it, close down live, and reopen it. That's what I hate most about live is having to restart every time my controller comes unplugged :u:

I haven't used reason in a long-ass time, but IIRC if you rewire reason to ableton, and then create a MIDI track in Ableton and select "MIDI to" the Reason channel you just rewired, then enable the Arm Session Recording button at the bottom of the MIDI track (this is all in session view), then you won't have to switch midi inputs at all, it'll all go through ableton.
