Processing Speed, Ram and Production
Hey Guys
quick question about processing power.
I need a new computer and am kind of on a budget.
The main question I am wondering is if an Intel I3 processor w/ 6GB RAM will be fine for music production?? (my dual core setup now glitches out Hardddd by the end of a track and I dont want that happening anymore)
If I can get away with an I3 instead of an I5 or i7 that would be great so if anyone could answer this for me it would help a lot!

Re: Processing Speed, Ram and Production
people made great music on computers 10 years ago, and 6GB ram is more than enough.

you'll be fine with an i3, they're good chips. you can overclock them nicely too.

Not even sure my setup has got any more than 2Gb in it at home now I think about it

Dude, my pc has a signle core pentium 4 with 1 GB of ram.... it starts clipping out when i have 10 instances of massive open (on a good day
) so i think that 6 GB would be more than adequete

What OS are you going to use? Some Operating Systems like XP and lower-level Win7 packages can't recognise more than 4 GBs of RAM.
