HAACK wrote:Alright, leaving it to entries to vote leaves room for cheating as well, especially when you have multiple votes, so there has to be a line drawn somewhere. As much as it is great to get a chance to vote, having a panel would be fair and like last time I ensured a set of guidelines for the panel which really looked at each track, critiqued, and not only voted for production quality but interest and creativity as well.
a panel would suck. part of the fun is finding out what everyone thinks of your tune, not what 3 or 4 people think. as i suggested, only having active members would be one idea to curb someone with multiple accounts voting on one tune.

from what everyone else has said tho, they're happy with the way its worked in the past so why bother changing it at all. lets just forget this one and hope the next goes smoothly!

Take it back to having the poll within DSF and things should be fine IMO. If people really want to go out of their way to create multiple accounts on DSF, that's their business (though I can run IP checks ;)).

You could still finish it, i kinda feel like it makes no difference at this point if you met the deadline or not..

I voted for Natpac Erutuf, cos if you say it out loud it kinda sounds like the noise ppl make when they are going to throw up.. Also i suppose i liked it ;p

I can't help noticing though, that the tracks i thought were the best tend to have much fewer votes.. im starting to realize that my tastes are quite different from many people on this forum.

Right then, if entries could get their vote on time the deadlines would not have to be extended, the deadline was also missed because of the DSF poll creator which multiplied voting after I had attempted to clear it. Generally it is in-house and will continue to be that way in the future unless we all can vote on a panel?

On that note will the producer of the track titled SOLSTICE come forward!

I liked that one, fair play. Thought it could've done with a bit of switch up/variation on the percussion programming toward the 2nd half of the tune, but good sounds going on :)

Mine was Solstice.

Now that the contest is over, I'm going to go over the mixdown and mastering again before uploading to Soundcloud.

Nice work wubster.
You got my vote.

Yep, my track does need some variation.

Congrats to wub!

mine was blueshift, didn't even get one vote :corncry: but at least the first failed poll gave it some love (should have made a screenshot :cornlol: )

really need to upgrade skillz though, think i'll pass these comps for a while..
