so how did the liver problems cause portal hypertension???

CHF causes hardening of the liver.

The portal vein is a heptaic vein. I.e it passes through the liver.

Because my liver was unusually hard, it was like standing on a hose pipe. Pressure grew in the portal vein causing esophageal varices which eventually popped causing blood loss.

I'd imagine if the vein didn't carry de-oxygenated blood I'd be dead

If am having a bath late at night, I do the candle and spliff thing. Leaving the bathroom door open so I can hear the stereo, put something nice and chilled on. Lie backand stroke my loefah.

Oh I do that maybe half the time, sometimes I forget to bring the brush and toothpaste. Actually sometimes I forget to bring the razor in there too and I end up not shaving that day. I don't have a bath, but wish I did. Last house had baths but I never used them. This one is just a shower that's at floor level, so it doesn't fill. Always miss the simplest things...

i just used shower water. looking back maybe it wasnt the best plan

But why would you have to wait? There's water constantly hitting your face in the shower. Plus the pressure tickles your mouth.
