Good thread! The Nord is a very powerful and flexible synth but I reckon the SH101 is just more fun, especially if you have the "guitar" handle accessory thingy so it gets my vote. You won't be able to use a Nord as a MIDI controller, though to be honest, why would you? It can do everything and more.

^not me but serves as inspiration to keep it...

I do, in fact, have a 'mod grip' on mine. Would be so keen to play it out live, maybe i could go busk with it and jam some Devo on the street :6:

Hijacking the thread!

I'm currently thinking about buying a Nord Lead 2X/Nord Wave or a Moog Little Phatty. Anyone here that have experience with both synths? Pros & cons? I'm not going to use the synth entirely for dubstep, so wich is more bang for the bucks?

As far as bang for your buck is concerned, the Nord Rack 2X assuming you already have a MIDI keyboard. Purely on the basis that it offers a much wider range of sounds.

Autism, that is really up to you and what you want to do. You're talking about some money there. Maybe really figure out how you like to work and what sounds you want to produce.

I'm not so fond of the idea of having synths in racks. I like to have the cake right in front of me so to speak, and not the ingredients scattered all over the place.

The money is not a problem and well, my music is pretty much bass oriented and I really like the sound coming from the Phatty. But I'm feeling like a Nord Lead/Wave has more variation built into it. Mostly I produce dubstep, but also some house and electro. I'm just trying to get a feel of what i could have the most use of, cause the Phatty seems like it could be a killer synth while producing dubstep/electro. Anyhow, I'm pointing more towards the Moog than at the Nord, unless someone protests and convinces me that the Nord is slightly better for my purposes.
