Probe - Variable
New one i just finished a few days ago. My style has been progressing and this is definitely the best work i have done so far. Enjoy.

Re: Probe - Variable
its pretty nicely produced, got some nice sub underneath it and everything and i really like the melody over the top, its nice and haunting.
Think you should try clean up the vocal sample as well as getting rid of the 4 on the floor bit as it kind of ruins the vibe for me.

Re: Probe - Variable
Why do people need to ruin such fine melodic content with midrange bassline?
Just kidding, I'm not into the bassline but like I said in another thread, melody and atmosphere are more than welcome in this style.
So yeah, I really liked the intro, it evolves nicely. The way the melody stops at 0:55 is a bit strange tho, not very natural, perhaps you should stop the melody without killing the note/reverb.
Regarding the structure, the UK garage drumbeat from 1:13 to 1:23 also feels a bit strange going like this for just 10 secs and would most likely feel the same on the dancefloor if you think about it. It should either not be there or come later and last longer.
About the mixdown, imo the midrange bassline would benefit from being a couple dBs quieter, the sub a bit louder as well as the kick which definitely lacks some low end. The snare is a bit average (comes from a Vengeance sample pack, doesn't it?) but still does the job.

Re: Probe - Variable
bassline is great. sounds really good. but like daft tnuc said the weird beat drop at 0:55 just does not fit. maybe you should use some more tension on the buildup, just an advise. but the bass is impressive. sounds... professional. how did you made it? listen to my tune that i posted yesterday, my basslines sound so... plastic? what are you using?

Re: Probe - Variable
The track is nice. I'd probably work on the intro and try to let the low mids in the wobbles stick out a little more and grit them up, 'cause I think they sound a little wimpy and straight out of Massive/any wavetable or graintable synth- but that's just my very subjective hearing, I have made some sounds like the ones you made for this and I squeezed 'em through ring modulators, small reverbs, choruses, several distortion untis etc etc to put more grit into my shit. Again, this is just my opinion, some people like their wobbles pretty dry.
Here's what I sound like
