Just switched from a pc with a emu0404 so finding macbook speakers weak. Got the monitors just need interface. Any recommendtions? Budget approx £100-£200.
Yo m8, you don't need to spend any extra money! You can use the 0404 with your Macbook just fine. Just need to download the correct drivers.
Here's the link to download from Emu's site:

Sorry should of been more clear. 0404 is an internal one not external so would not work. (No USB)proxy wrote:Yo m8, you don't need to spend any extra money! You can use the 0404 with your Macbook just fine. Just need to download the correct drivers.

I have one of the USB 0404's that I just use with my laptop. It was given to me by a friend who works for EMu so that I could beta test the Mac drivers.
I'm somewhat old school in my studio as far as my interface goes. I'm running a MOTU 828 (original Mk1) and a MOTU 2408 that is just used as a format converter from the 828 ADAT lightpipe. So I have 16 analog ins and outs to my board.
ramadanman is spot on, i bought one of these last week. pretty similar to the m-audio firewire series, except it has better mic pre-amps, and plus if anything goes wrong, if it breaks etc, the company is based in the uk, unlike m-audio who are based in belgium or something like that.ramadanman wrote:i use the saffire le. it's sick
you should pick one up for just over 200 quid.
