New to Ableton Live
So I get Ableton Live a week or so ago and I am wanting to learn to make dubstep with it, I am coming from a background of no electronic music and little music theory but I can play guitar and have a little musical ability. I am looking for some great tuts on making dubstep with Ableton, I've searched google and a lot of them just lead me back to some dubstep school. I've been playing around with it and I can make some interesting things, no songs just some interesting compositions using the instruments and messing with their presets. Any tips, tricks, tutorials, anything like that would be nice.
thanks in advanced,

Re: New to Ableton Live
Just youtube "Ableton tutorials" or like "Ableton beginner" or something. Learn the basics, then you search for "Ableton dubstep tutorial" or such... as said above, you've got ALOT to learn if you've just started with Ableton. So, lurk youtube and watch EVERYTHING. You'll learn more visually from youtube than from random people on a forum. After you've got the basics, it'll be easier for us to help.

Re: New to Ableton Live
just search for tutorials about how to use your daw's basic functions until you develop a feel for how ableton works. Then when you figure things out, you can move on to synthesis and mixing and making songs.
Re: New to Ableton Live
Dubspot eartrash and abletondaily for starters, then once you learn the basics of the software, check out kev willow (google it) and boyinaband's dirty dubstep 7day song. The second two aren't in ableton, but should help you a lot with techniques that could be passed on into ableton.

Re: New to Ableton Live
Look no further. Amazing tutorial for learning Ableton. Its 1 hour of a 10 hour long tut. Hour 2 is on youtube as well, but you gotta pay for the rest. Good place to start though

Re: New to Ableton Live
I will be uploading the first of my tutorials to YouTube on Monday/Tuesday - my channel is here:
http://www.youtube.com/AscianUK
The first will be about kick drums.. It isn't a step by step tutorial but more just tips. You should pick up some useful points though!

The manual, Lynda, Tom Cosm, MrBill, Abletondaily, and Vespers taught me all I need to know.
