Specters - Blackout [Dark Minimal Dubstep/Garage]

Post by Specters » Fri Jul 29, 2011 3:15 am

New dark one for everyone. more garage-y this time around but still deep and dark. Would love any and all feedback.

sounding good.

That snare's a bit weak, needs a bit more on the low end. I reckon the vocal samples could use a bit less reverb. In fact everything could use a bit less reverb. Also the piano that starts around 0:35 sounds a bit stiff, try playing it by hand if you've got a keyboard, or just turning off the grid and moving the notes around a bit so they sound more natural.

reverb and a lower snare are intentional but definitely look into the piano--i did play it by hand though haha. oh well maybe i'll do it again. thanks for the feedback.

Whoops :cornlol:

When I play stuff by hand it's all over the show. I guess that's not true for everybody :dunce:

Propa vibes as usual, diggin the piano melody as well. The bass line reminds me of a cross over of like old Goth-Trad and then like TRG or something. Super fresh though, definitely feelin it.

Agree with what's been said about the snare, sounds a bit empty when it hits. Liking the floaty piano bits you've got working in and out though. Would be interested in hearing the finished version :D
