Skrillex is a producer, not meant to be a dj. That doesnt make him a poser

Who thinks Skrillex doesn't need to do this because he's highly successful as is and doesn't need to conform to your preconceived notions of what a DJ is???

If you guys think you're way cooler for spinning OTHER people's 140 music on vinyl as opposed to making his OWN tunes and playing it with a midi controller you're sadly, SADLY mistaken.

i love the title of the video. basically 'skrillex live' is him playing songs off his laptop. i really cant believe it, i mean i thought he was a tool anyways but this is just ridiculous. he's doing a UK tour and tickets are £15, so basically you're paying over the odds just to see him in the flesh. kids obviously have far more money than sense these days
This.
I thought you people go to see him live for the dubplates and VIPs? Are you guys seriously going to see Mala to see how tight he can mix a 138 bpm song and a 140 bpm song? JOKES. I can't emphasize this shit enough, this music is defined and confined by tempo. You could mix 90% of dubstep with nothing more than play and stop buttons so who gives a fuck if that's what he's using.

Haters gonna hate.

The man makes his own music so its 500x more meaningful than one of you playing a deep medi set on vinyl :u: :u: :u:

no it isnt. "meaningful" is probably the most subjective word in the history of humankind.
It's far more meaningful for me to watch Legend4ry and his mates spin vinyls properly on Wednesdays via UStream. If i want to hear Skrillex or anyone else's productions, i can find them on my own. Seeing a DJ act is meant to bring mixing, selection and context to the experience.
He should just produce and not DJ, because he's lousy at DJing. I'm not even hating on his tunes, people like them. Fair play, let a good DJ spin them.
DJing is DIFFERENT than production. It's a whole different skill set, and good ones deserve the gig more. Your argument is lousy.

So if U2 show up at a gig, put their album in a CD player and spend the rest of the show sitting in a chair eating popcorn that would be meaningful because it's their own songs ?
