anyone ever use Synthesia?
my friend told me to download Synthesia to learn the keyboard better. basically it takes songs (even from your own library) and gives you the midi notes and you play them like guitar hero sort of.
my friend is in a hardcore band and has always been pretty good at music (guitar and bass) but man did he learn the keyboard quick and now he is good.
anyone else ever try Synthesia? i just got it and started messing about, not sure if it will help me a lot or not, though.

yes its free
and it works fine with my mpk25. you have hit a key on your keyboard when your trying to sync it. it should then recognize it.

It's free as a basic version, but the useful features require you to purchase a license.
Also, it doesn't convert audio to MIDI, it only plays MIDI files, though there is software that can convert most audio to MIDI with some error correcting needed.
The website is http://www.synthesiagame.com so it's marketed as a type of game, and it's pretty much that. Seems like a semi useful game. Reminds me a bit of audiosurf or stepmania with some knowledge thrown in.
Also watch out because it sends MIDI CC data, made some of my hardware freak out. So if you use a synth as a MIDI keyboard like me, might wanna disable MIDI program change/RX in the synth first.
