dmz has 2 LPs out, one by Mala "Return II Space" & one by Coki "Urban Ethics" you should still be able to order both of them. they both, however, are under the Digital Mystikz name. (these are easy to find)

Everyone seems to be forgetting that every DMZ release, in fact every Coki, Mala or Loefah track, is easily downloadable for free, just like any other music. Only releasing it on vinyl doesn't mean people are only gonna hear it that way. The whole suppression thing seems pointless when anyone can go on youtube, listen to a shit quality upload of a Coki tune on their laptop speakers and declare that 'its shit cos there's no bass' or something. Isn't that exactly what they were trying to avoid by only releasing it on vinyl?

I for one don't have a record player and will be unable to get one for at least a few years, so I can't feel guilty about torrenting DMZ releases

Bullshit excuse man, there are some CHEAP record players around. You don't need to go out and by a pair of Technic 1210s and a Funktion One system.

As Pistons said further up, with vinyl only releases, those that were there have them, and those that don't, don't.

Pick up a cheap deck/record player, and get vinyl for the future. One day people will be looking back wishing they had something you were lucky enough to get.

Yeah, sure, I could get a cheap record player, then I could also spend a load on a system that actually benefits from the better sound quality, then spend heaps importing vinyl to the other side of the world, but I have more important things to spend what little cash I earn on at my age, ie. rent, saving up for a car, etc. I can still enjoy the music and just look forward to the day when I'll be able to experience it the way its meant to be heard.

And lets not forget that a lot of the people on this forum who think dubstep should only be listened to on vinyl are the same people complaining that so many people listen to shit dubstep. If the good shit was more easily accessible, maybe this would be less of a problem....

Haha, thanks man, sorry if I came across aggressive, not my intention. Just thinking if I was the producer and wanted to release on vinyl only, would be pretty annoyed to see my stuff all over torrent sites. Of course like you said, you have more important things to be buying, that's fair enough, but still don't see how that justifies torrenting DMZ releases. If a label releases vinyl only, and I like the release, I don't feel hard done buy to put a little effort into listening to something I'll keep and cherish. Hope that clears up what I meant.

Just saying, kind of a gripe of mine when people just don't respect the wants of the producer/label, like they think the world owes them everything they want. There are plenty of releases that AREN'T vinyl only and plenty of top labels that aren't big enough to put out physical releases, so DMZ releasing vinyl only is hardly to blame for 14 year olds listening to skrillex and doctor p.

i've already got warrior dubz on cd, but i'll be investing in the coki lp pretty soon, incase it dissapears like the DMZ's did off bleep a couple of years ago. Managed to get Mud/Rufage back then, didn't get the rest coz i'm sad and only buy wavs/flacs and won't buy no 320s. Only Mud/Rufage was available as flac on there. Haven't even heard the Coki album yet, if stuff isn't available on cd/digi i can go without, unlike some who will download crappy rips off the internet and then complain about it. There's plenty of ruff tunes out there that are available on cd/digi that i haven't got yet, so i'm not gonna complain about not being able to get some tunes that mans don't want me to have coz i don't buy vinyl.

its not a question of smugness etc, that's just how it is. If you want to listen to the songs they are all available in mixes which one can normally get free so its not like the songs are totally inaccessible. Was dubstep not such a recent scene the fact that so many songs are unavailable would be the norm. I find this 'I exist so I am therefore entitled' generation really frustrating. You don't need everything right now this minute, be patient.

The fact that these records are limited means that when you do decide to invest in them they will actually be worth something. Personally if I became involved in somethign new, I would like to know that I will potentially see some kind of return on my investment rather than have a spare room full of 12"s that I can't pay people to take off my hands.

No disrespect Mikey, but i buy records (that are not available digitally), because i enjoy the music, the return of investment on the cost of a 12" is my enjoyment of the music. The last thing i think about when i buy a record is if i'm gonna be able to resell it for a profit. thats just stupid.
