See, this makes no sense. Why do you assume we're trying to change that by ripping on him? Do you think this has a serious, concise goal? No, we're just having a laugh within a community that shares a common interest, which is to rip on Zomboy. Also, I didn't turn on him, I never respected him as an artist, let alone as a person. I'd appreciate it if he admitted to sampling Skrillex, but hey, I doubt he ever will. I hope he never does, that means we can continue to rip on him

Alright grandma, glad we have someone to uphold the moral standard. Point is, it's kids like Zomboy that are ruining the industry. Do you think the motivation will still exist for REAL sound designers if talentless hacks take credit for their work---while the public is too stupid to know the difference?

If you love Zomboy's work, just admit it. I will point you in the direction of a Future Sound of London, Paul Kalkbrenner, or Kryptic Mind track, so you can hear what a fully engineered, designed sound and well crafted track sounds like

Let's go over this one more time: He claims to have started making these tracks after only a month of production experience.

There's nothing to "produce like him", because he didn't do any of it outside of where and at what times he copy+pasted in his DAW. He sampled synths, probably sampled drum hits to remove the effort involved in mixing the drums, too, and threw in some preset synth sounds so not everything was straight from other artists. Payed the nice mastering man to make them sound pretty, and voila. That's the entire point of this thread. Those of you defending him are almost as bad as those going overboard on ripping him.

My guff about all of this is just that he's getting undue attention because he's stealing, and obviously not harmless sampling; blatant abuse. It's a moral issue for me, and an annoyance that he's getting attention FOR it, not as a negative result of it. Some of you are acting like everyone in this thread is wasting all kinds of time hating on him. I've been making all sorts of tunes, in fact I'm rendering one right now. Stupid argument. I can call someone out for cheating if I want, especially if it's true. Nothing wrong with that, only him. And I only "lost focus making tunes" for the 5 minutes I typed this
