I think you must just live somewhere with a shit scene. We had nothing but weighty dark non cheesy sounds all night and Deep End and Subheavy always put on nights of this quality where there's never any crap like what you said (styles vary a bit though, especially with subheavy not it is declaring itself not a dubstep night and is now getting a lot of quality house, garage and UK Funky djs playing at it as well as dubstep and grime).

Also the style of dubstep youngsta plays is so obviously a continuation of what dubstep has sounded like often since I first got into it. (I got into it around 2005). Claiming it should be separate from a style it really really obviously is is fucking stupid,
yeah but not everyone is as lucky to have badman nights like subheavy!

i also agree with the bottom part. surely if anything this is dubstep and the UKF should change its name to like midblast or noisechug or something

Yeah thats nice and all, dick , but what its become is just terrible. I mean I guess you have to live here to get how bad it is, but the shit most people call dubstep now is god awful and shouldn't be grouped in with the original sound.

I'm a dick because I think it's stupid to call actual dubstep that is clearly dubstep another word?

I dunno what your problem is? Do think that because I posted how long I've been into it I'm somehow showing off? Cause it aint that at all. I was just saying it to give a scale to what I say when I claim that over the years that I've been into it this "dungeon" sound comes across to me as being an obvious part of dubstep and that just changing the name is dumb. Do you really care what people think of your taste that much? You've just been to crap night that's all. No need for name changes.

Sorry you just came off a bit smug.. I just dont want that sound to be taken down with the rest when the scene dies. Its a shame that the original sound has been perverted so much thats all im saying.. I dont really care what people think of what I listen to. I just hate seeing something I liked so much being commercialized and raped beyond recognition

It won't get dragged down cause the people who still care about making interesting dubstep are doing it for the love of the music completely oblivious to what all the little brostep kids are into.

When Deep End got Lx-one and Lurka the crowd were going fucking nuts for it. People love the sound. They also love all the styles guys like the Antisocial crew push. Silkie, Quest, Jay 5ive and G Double have got so much love down here. Crowds fucking like the fusions with house that Ramadanman and the like will play too. As long as the quality stays good with what ever style people bring it will not get dragged down by what is popular.

Nothing in this thread will change the fact that YOU went to a night with artists playing music that YOU didn't like.

If you had taken 2 mins to check out the other DJ's on the bill, you might not of received such a shock and you could've fucked off when the shit DJ's come on.

It's not the DJ's /Promoters/Fans fault that the word Dubstep spans across a vast variety of different sounds, it is however your fault for not researching a night's lineup before you went. The ignorance astounds sometimes...

did play some old Skream and shxt but hey you get my point, the guy made Al Barsha, King of The Trees Chillz, Congo Therapy, Dub express etc but plays Doctor P (don't know who it's from) !!!which was fresh a year ago!!! and got played a zillion times !!!! (so don't go whine about al barsha etc being old xD) URGH

What Be-1ne said... Also I like some tear out like 16bit which was headlining the event [which is why my girlfriend thought it would be a good surprise].. The shit that lead up to them however was complete garbage... The lack of reading astounds me :W:

Another thing that pissed me off was it seemed like they turned down the system when 16bit finally got to play. Which really pissed me off after sitting through that Moombah shit on full blast.. A weak night all in all

this thread again ? :dunce:

I listen to producers, not fabricated genre names. And if, by some small chance, during conversation I happen to feel inclined to elaborate on my musical tastes, since I am already going through the troubles of explaining something, I might as well do it properly and not just throw in some random self-fabricated genre name to get off easily.

That being said, who am I to stop people from using a certain name. As long as we can communicate about it right?
DUNGEON

It's just really bad in the states, people who listen to stuff thats more true to the roots don't even like telling someone they listen to Dubstep here. I just say I listen to Youngsta when people ask me, and when they say "whats that?" I tell them dark bass music. I can only facepalm so many time, because I mention dubstep and someone asks me if I've ever heard of Skrillex. His tunes actually did sound alot better than most of the other shit that was getting dropped last night though [It pains me to admit that] haha

:z: christ, exactly what i've been thinking for so long. i live two hours west of chicago, and the only radio station in my city is country western. when i first got into dubstep, i got nothing but terrible reactions. after skrillex's inexplicably fast rise to super stardom, imagine how bad it is NOW out here in the sticks when you hear someone talking about rascal flatts and skrillex/bassnectar/boregore in the same sentence.

:u: :u: :u: :u: :u: :u: :u:
