May as well, innit. You have to pay the full £30 anyway - £10 of which is refunded upon return of an 'unscathed' tent, if you're renting it.......... Unscathed -q-

I usually camp with a group of about 50 or so people that all know each other... so I don't think groups make the difference :P

I'm proper pissed, my ride kinda screwed up because their car is full now and I’m not in it. Anyone going by car/bus and can pick me up somewhere in Switzerland/South East Germany, preferebly Basel but time and place doesn’t really matter for me.

Joined the Outlook Rent-a-tent crew! haha.

Just looking to buy a few essentials at the moment with this weekend being a bit busy me being at FWD 10th Birthday and all.

Just looking at like a travel belt and wondering if to or not. Not talking one of those obvious 1990's bum bags but more of a flat one just to keep my passport, tickets and money on me at all time. Camping for 7 days with my passport in just bags and pockets for me is a bit worrying especially when your gonna spend a lot of time skanking, pissed up and whatever else

This is true. The Croatians, while they enjoy taking your money, do not want you to stay in the country longer than you have to. Passports are kept under lock and key until you leave.

if you can't find a ride, there's a way to get from zurich to pula via 2 trains. overnight from zurich to ljubljana and an early morning train about 30 minutes afterward to pula. one way comes out to about 50 euro if you book in advance, i think. let me know if you need more info!

and yeah, passport was handed over upon arrival at the campsite. i was a bit uneasy about how they handled it all, but suppose it's better than keeping it in some dirty corner of the tent.

thanks mate, I booked a flight to Venice on sunday so I'll stay there for 3 nights and then move to Pula by train & bus!
will work the rest out when I'm there.
Cheers anyway

does anyone know what currency to bring for outlook?

i should technically take Croatian 'Kuna', but when it comes to things like drugs etc im guessing that the people selling them wont want such a weak currency and might prefer euro or sterling.

anyone got any info/advice/tips on this?

I think it may also have to do with some fallout from the 1st year where quite a few people scarpered without paying for their accom or left accom in a horrendous state. Not to mention graffitying parts of the town.

only bought something 'unofficial' once and it was in euro. think it depends on the person though.
