PROPER NEW DUBSTEP LABEL LOOKING FOR TRACKS/PRODUCERS

Post by We Are Legion » Mon Aug 15, 2011 5:30 pm

Yo!

We are in the process of launching a brand new label to release dubstep, drumstep, drum n bass and hiphop/grime.
Without giving too much away at this stage i can say that we will be working with Infectious PR (Chase and Status, Skism, Pendulum) for our PR.
We have support from DJ Skism @Never Say Die Records and the team behind this new label have already much success and experience in running a well known label dealing in Electro House. We have full digital distribution--over 300 stores including all the important ones..itines beatport juno track it down etc.

We are serious, professional and on the case.

We are looking for well produced club bangers, heavy, big sound. Think Skism, Torqux, Twist,Skrillex etc. etc.-not really looking for chilled out or experimental stuff at the moment.

Please Private Message this account with your submissions and we will respond.
Only serious producers, no timewasters.

Many Thanks

We Are Legion.

seriously, just another bandwagon-jumping group of dicks for a label cashing in on the fad. "experimental" is that what you call everything else on the dubstep field than midrange cack?

Wow, lotsa hostility and presumptions.
For the record I personally love lots of different styles of dubstep. For this label we are concentrating on one sound. Hope thats OK with the slef appointed Kings of the Scene on this forum

No email or website given because we havn't launched the label yet mate. But its all there.
We didn;t even give you name of the label so how you would google it i have no idea.

Anyway thanks again for all the submissions so far.
All the haters--well---typical forum behavior.

So if your interested in releasing tracks with a fresh new label launching in a few weeks, with full support from industry heads and working with the best PR in the buisness get in touch VIA PM. You will be given much more detail there.

Oh and I dont see any CAPS LOCK on my original post.

Dont suppose you might want to set those up before you go public? Surely people are going to want to see your at least taking this serious enough to merit some web-design. A good website with dynamic, interesting content about your artists is a major part of selling your music.

Before I consider working with a label, I want a name if nothing else, your acting very shady withholding it.

How do you have full support and djs playing your tunes if you havent published any tunes yet, or even given a name? Surely before you can have support and promotion you have to have a name?

look in your title.

They are set up mate- but we havn't launched yet. We have a launch date and a whole campaign to go with it---its called timing.
We do not want to announce anything-including name until then. Simple.

All the people who have submitted their tracks VIA PM have been given the full lowdown on who we are and where we have come from.
We have support from certain well known Dj's and labels becuase we have been in contact with them and we have worked with them with our electro house label in the past with remixes. We are not label virgins-we run a tight ship with our electro label and now we want to put out dubstep--we are already connected mate.

Ive been a label manager for a long time mate and Ive had many Top 20 Beatport releases as an electro house producer- don't assume you know what you're talking about at all. The people who submitted know exactly who I am and what my label is and that's what I care about. Not some loser on an internet forum foaming at the mouth because he hates a certain style of dubstep.

And again thanks to all those who have submitted- they're have been some great tracks ;-)

You keep saying 'our electro label'...

Does it have a name, or is that a secret too?

Then surely you'd have acknowledged Skrillex as someone who produces 'electro house', not dubstep?

Yes the electro label has a name. If you are interested in submitting a track then you will be given all the details and an email address.

We are not announcing anything in public until the official launch.

Yes of course Skrillex makes electro house as well as dubstep.

You seem almost scared we're gonna check your references if you post them...

Why the shadyness man? Get your professionalism on. We're asking you to link your electro label. You have a chance to self promote. Think about it. You look shady.

OP
please note that your use of propper is perhaps inadvertently misleading
as it has been used on here & elsewhere to differentiate between spacious/deep/heavy/dubby/subby ds
& the hard jump-up that you want to release.
Not hating, just saying to help you avoid some rancour.

Im sorry if this offends anyone on here.
To re-iterate and clarify-

1.The reason there is no information given in public is because we have a planned launch campaign and we are sticking to it. Doesn't mean we cant scout for tracks online in the meantime.
2. Everyone who has submitted so far (and there have been a bunch) knows who Iam, what the label is called and what the electro house label is called.
3. I apologise if my use of the term Proper was taken to mean "best style". It was not my intention to shit on anyones taste. I love dubby dubstep and 2step as much as next man. This new label is simply not putting that out. Doesn't mean its statement of war against any particular tribe.
4. Yes we are looking for dubstep in the style of Torqux, Skrillex, Skism etc. etc. Hope thats OK.
5. I appreciate there is a segment of haters who just hate this new style of dubstep, thats cool, each to their own, but i think some people just like to be hostile online sometimes.
6. To be perfectly honest I think the response from certain users have been rude and assuming. All I am doing is asking people who are interested in submitting tracks via soundcloud for a new label. They are told exactly who we are and what we are offering. This is done in private via email. What is the big deal man?

to respond to We Are Legion:
1. People can choose to not send you tracks because they want information first. They have just as much freedom as you do, and have the right to want information before they send tracks.
2. Everyone who hasn't submitted doesn't. Some might not submit because they want information.
3. I understand that you want people to receive your label well, and I understand that you want to compliment it by calling it proper. However, there is no way for us to assess if we feel that it is proper, because we know nothing about it. Also, whenever you big up yourself like this, you should expect people to question whether or not such a label is deserved.
4. Yes, certain people dislike those styles and are uninterested in releases such music, or releasing on a label that propagates such music.
5. People dislike things for reasons. Many people simply do not enjoy how this type of music sounds to their ears. Just because someone dislikes something does not mean they are a jealous hater.
6. To be honest, you are being rude and assuming. All we are doing is asking a person who is interested in being sent our music who they are, and what his/her label is called, and asking for background information. We just want to know who we are sending things to before we send them. This is done in public via forum post. What is the big deal man?

That music has no longevity, it already stinks of copycats, repetitve sounds, and unoriginality. I would consider that before launching a label based purely on one style
