Re: BREAKING BAD!!!!!
Yeah, quality episode, it's back on track now. A few great moments, Walt jnr.s coffee cup, and the ending obviously.
Re: BREAKING BAD!!!!!
missed the significance of the coffee cup, what was that abt?

Sex scene made my toes curl.

still got not idea where jesse stands tbh, why did gus set up that situation? to give jesse a false sense of security while theyre still planning to kill him?say_whut wrote:Episode 5 was good, particularly the soundtrack in this one stood out. Some bits were made incredibly intense by the music used.
Also, the whole Jesse and Mike thing has taken a very, very interesting turn. I actually have no idea where Walt stands now.
The ending was awesome too. I think this season is in full swing now, the investigation is heating up something proper.

It's a (Ted) Beneke cup from Skyler's work, when they're having the conversation about Walt coming back.Words wrote:missed the significance of the coffee cup, what was that abt?
Re: BREAKING BAD!!!!!
I'm guessing it's to give Jesse a sense of self worth so he stops his destructive actions that could endanger the whole operation/stop him using drugs/stops the ne'er-do-wells jamming at his yard etc.Words wrote:still got not idea where jesse stands tbh, why did gus set up that situation? to give jesse a false sense of security while theyre still planning to kill him?say_whut wrote:Episode 5 was good, particularly the soundtrack in this one stood out. did you even read the article? AMC confirmed they're ordering one last 16 episode batch.
The two 'season' thing is speculation on the articles behalf, noted by the word "may"... Mainly because it said 16 episodes instead of the normal 13. Regardless it'll be filmed, written, and completed next year
So next year, 2012, is the last season they will film... and if they do split it seasons they'll do like BSG/Lost and just split it within one calendar year.

Re: BREAKING BAD!!!!!
you're right, but there are only 9 indexed episodes for season 4 so far. wouldn't surprise me if they stretched it out with 2 8 episode seasons
Re: BREAKING BAD!!!!!
Really? I think Jesse has proved his initiative, I'm going to assume everyones seen this new episode: when Jesse escaped the dudes at the cash drop I think he genuinely impressed Mike. Jesse was telling Mike of even at street level meth dealing, he had a similar system of cash pickups. Maybe, Mikey might team up with Jesse?cityzen wrote:I'm guessing it's to give Jesse a sense of self worth so he stops his destructive actions that could endanger the whole operation/stop him using drugs/stops the ne'er-do-wells jamming at his yard etc.Words wrote:still got not idea where jesse stands tbh, why did gus set up that situation? to give jesse a false sense of security while theyre still planning to kill him?say_whut wrote:Episode 5 was good, particularly the soundtrack in this one stood out. Why Gus set this up, i think it might be a wake up call in some way? He may be taught the ways that Gus & Co. run things so they can use his street knowledge? I don't know, that's quite a weak theory I've suggested

Re: BREAKING BAD!!!!!
Am I the only one who thinks Gus is wanting to manipulate Jesse in a way to make sure he gets killed/disappears/stops working with Walt voluntarily?
You'd think that if he'd want lift Jesse's spirits, he would've done it with less of a hassle.

Good point.... but it doesn't seem like it was that much of a hassle, especially for a man with Gus' resources. Still a good point though.Genevieve wrote:You'd think that if he'd want lift Jesse's spirits, he would've done it with less of a hassle.
Thinking on it more, it does seem like a divide and conquer tactic. At the moment, the Walt/Jesse bond is Gus' biggest problem. There is no angle on Walt so Gus might be working a long con to split the two. Jesse is the weakest link and would be easy to manipulate. He needs a father figure (which he looked for in Walt but Walt kinda spurned him) and Mike may be stepping up to the mark....
I don't think Mike will ever genuinely team up with him. Mike is a soldier, he lives by a code, and to him Jesse is just a druggie punk. Hanging out with him will never be more than a means to an end.say_whut wrote:Maybe, Mikey might team up with Jesse?
@Noam - Skylar... pfft, I wouldn't touch her with a ten foot pole!

Hassle, as in, there were a lot of risks involved. Unnecessary ones if your goal is to simply make someone feel better about themselves. You'd wanna keep the variables to a minimum.cityzen wrote:Good point.... but it doesn't seem like it was that much of a hassle, especially for a man with Gus' resources. Curious how it will unfold, though.
Mike is still the biggest enigma. Such an unpredictable dude. And his dead facial expression ain't helpin' either. He may be turning into my favorite character which is simply amazing. You rarely see such a replacable background character evolve into someone as complex and interesting as Mike.

I can't even figure the dude out, like when he met with Gus in this episode I was trying to deduce how he felt about this whole thing and ended up with nothing. I can't even tell if he likes working for Gus, because all he says is that he "does what he's told".

Re: BREAKING BAD!!!!!
I think Mike is one of the few characters that (intentionally) throws no clues out about what he's really like. He's clearly going to be a big part of this story, and they've done well to leave themselves a ton of different directions to go.say_whut wrote:This^Genevieve wrote:Mike is still the biggest enigma. indeed an interesting character. I loved his rolling-eyes/pissed expression when a part of his ear fell off after the shooting scene.

Re: BREAKING BAD!!!!!
It's so frustrating waiting for the link to go from 'coming soon' to available. http://www.tvduck.com/Breaking-Bad.html Every week I do this.
Anyone got a link that gets the episodes up particularly quick? Or has it not been on in America yet anyway?
