Reason 5 sequencing (sampler specific)

Post by Caligula » Thu Aug 18, 2011 3:40 pm

Hey guys, I searched for this question but found nil so here goes. I'm wondering if there's a protocol in either of Reason's samplers similar, or equivalent to FL Studio's sampler channel's "Cut Itself" function? If not, does anybody have a simple technique or idea to try and get the same "effect" without having to load multiple versions of the same sample cut to different lengths into NNXT? I apologize if this is easily achieved and I'm just being dense (which is entirely possible if not probable)! :dunce:

i don't know anything about FL, but if you're talking about what's mentioned above, as in like a "choke" effect... where certain samples cut off when others are triggered? For example, an open hihat being choked when you trigger the closed hihat?

What you want to do there is highlight the samples in question and group them. Then on the left you can click "group mono". effectively making them monophonic, but only for that group. Comes in handy. You also will want to adjust your ADSR's to taste along with the group mono function
Hope this helps, best of luck
