mk2s? it's probably the on/off switch. see if the plastic switch easily lifts off and it'll definitely be that

it's a really shitty design and there's a metal pin that comes up from the inside and sticks into a circular hole in the bottom of the plastic turny on/off switch, and quite often the metal pin disconnects from the plastic and goes back inside. if it's that then the only way to fix it is to get your dust covers (if you have them) and turn your deck upside down over that (take the platter off before you do that), undo all the screws, take the rubber bit off and push the pin back into the plastic switch. i'd strongly suggest you glue it in place as my pin came out several times before i gave up and glued it. alternatively you can just glue the switch so that it's constantly in the on position and then switch off at mains

it's not that hard at all - it's just a fuckload of screws to undo

last time i had to do this before i glued them on was at a house party that skream, benga and artwork came back to after a night in sheffield and despite me telling the guy on before not to touch the off switch as it was dodgy... guess what happened? cue trying to fix a deck in a rushed panic whilst battered and with fuck all space to move

great fun lol

right, finally got round to havin a look at this

replaced the internal fuses, turned on to check if worked, had power for less than a second and the second fuse blew, the replacement fuses i used are good up to 1A, fuse 1 is good for 250mAmps, fuse 2 is good for 1Amp so the replacements i used should have been sufficient, which means im getting too much current through the transistor ((?) the orange thing on pcb running from the transformer to the on/off switch, which is causing the 2nd fuse to blow

or could it just be any component anywhere on the circuit thats fucking this up

it seems telling that its the 2nd fuse that is going though

everything on the board looks alright but im so basic at this i really dont know

any suggestions??

did you check your Q2 and Q3 transistors??
I had a 1200 that didn't turn on, because the genius before me didn't know how to properly replace the target light

cost me 40cents for a new transistor

yeh i didn't have the target light attached, i reckon thats probably it

wherebouts are the Q2 and Q3 transistors?

edit: dumb question got them, how will i know if they're fucked??

one of them current meter things, i have one in the garage

Fuse 2 keeps blowing, is that to do with the Q2/3 transistors?

I'm not too sure..
My guess that if you keep blowing fuses it could possibly be a transistor.. from what I understand transistors regulate current.

yeah well they have only one pair but we got to borrow the other one since the club's standard dj uses serato and cdjs so he didn't need it that much. but it was cool :4:
