As for the song itself, Skrilex, seems to be improving. This was was good before the shitty drop as opposed to just okay before the shitty drop.

Yeah but all of his songs are exactly the same..Kick snare beat/cheesy synths,chopped up vocals,OH MY FUCKING GOD sample(or something similar,then the same drop with the same synths..really its all of the same same same thing can't beleive people buy this shit

I'm not too worried about it. GetDarker has been great thus far, and I doubt this is a slide into getting tons of cheesy bro stuff during GetDarker.TV.

I seem to remember a 'Circus Takeover' or 'Rottun Takeover' or something like that a while back, same sitation, download it if it ticks your clock, but if it's not your thing then just wait for a better GetDarker set. I think that this can only be a benefit for the deeper/dungeon/purple scenes.

when they start to realise how many hits they get from this style, the whole thing will be overrun by it, if hits = money that is...

The comps were good imo. Putting Icicle and Flux Pavilion on the same CD is still the best way to attract more people while still having quality on it. I mean, the dubstep allstars CD didn't go sold out like 1 week after its release like This Is Dubstep did right ? (Correct me if I'm wrong, what I mean is TSD was bare hype, and seeing Icicle in a top selling CD like that can't be a bad thing).

Can't really say the same thign about having that laughable video of that laughable track on their website though, but that won't stop me from locking onto GDTV tonight

Well that's what i thought,but the thing is..
I know a lot of people who recently got on the brostep bandwagon and naturally since they dont know about vinyl when they looked for dubstep they found these comps and the ministry of sound ones(which had some good tunes too) but what happens is they listen to the bro tracks and then when they get to the icicle one they are like wow this is so boring why did they put this on the cd this isnt dubstep..blablabla i think you get the point

It's a shame, but not unexpected. Like someone already said, its probably a money thing. It's got to be hard deciding to not promote certain sounds when you know they'll increase your audience and income. Can't blame them for it but also can't say I'd do the same thing if I was in their position.

Having said that, and having not listened to the tune, it might be an amazing track!

If anyone stands a chance to open the "bro"-fans eyes to some deeper stuff, it's Getdarker imo. They've always been pretty much all over the spectrum and if having some Skrillex on the front page means that just one in 100 bro fans find, and like, some of the good stuff I would see that as a success.

So it's a good thing, as it's directing viewers who are there because of Skrillex onto some alternative sounds, that they may not have usually listened to?

This. I admittedly started off on the cheesier (albeit darker) sounds, however related youtube vids and a couple blogs led me into things like pinch, loefah, burial, l-wiz, d1, silkie, etc. etc. and here I am now blasting garage and deep house in my car spinning future garage at home on the daily, all on physical. Eternally grateful for that and will always appreciate that sound for what it is. Had I not eaten up datsik, excision, vaski, sukh knight, cookie monsta, etc. I would never have heard of bonobo, El-B, Untold, Mount Kimbie, Julio Bashmore, jack sparrow, falty dl, the list goes on and on. It's a bit disheartening when people assume that because you like skrillex means you can't appreciate something with more depth, and vice-versa.
