Image Line just released a new app for mixing, and it hosts both VST and VSTi as far as I can tell. Looks like it could be quite interesting for live use and making mixes.
http://www.deckadance.com/
Since it can also be loaded as a VST plugin itself, it makes for some interesting possibilities for sure.

Of course, if you suck as a DJ, you will still suck using Deckadance, but you will suck better, faster, harder and more creatively than ever before!

The digital DJ market is starting to heat up in big ways. there are so many options now that its a harder choice to make.
I've used final scratch and M-Audio Torq which I still have. I've also used Traktor, I have yet to commit to one yet. Torq is cool for its low cost. I just snagged a copy of deckadance to demo today. I may ante up and cop the Audio 8/traktor scratch crossgrade for fun. It's only Money right?
the hardware manufacturers are putting it out there, Now the producers and labels need to step up and do the same. Import vinyl on a poor U.S dollar is damn near a crime. Digital is cheaper, faster and the right way to go these days. I love vinyl just like the next person but the cost to get tunes on wax is just far too steep for those of us in the U.S ( especially when you have mortgage and a care note to pay).

I've tried several options, but I'm selling of my interfacing and buying CDJs. Can't beat the reliability. They're fucking shit to mix with tho (well, I'm still adapting), but it's not about me. It's about the croud. Producing is about me tho

All about me baby.

I hear and feel you completely. I could patch a
dotcom to sound like babies crying while playing taiko drums in no time, but I can't DJ worth shit. I get way to impatient and want to fsck stuff up by doing too many transitions too fast.
It's permanent breakcore damage.

i don't see how anyone can mix "in the box" without some sort of hardware interface.
