provolone was the original cheese (source), and if not having a cheesesteak means i don't have to eat one with manufactured canned bullshit salty cheese, i'm more than happy with that.

I seriously doubt anyone on here is about to argue the quality of Cheez Wiz...

but once it's mixed with grease and meat...not so bad.

people shitting on cheeze whiz in a cheeseteak thread? the fuck is wrong with you people

if you go to philly and want to eat what people from philly eat, you eat a cheesesteak with cheese whiz.

Like going to NYC and asking for deep dish, or chicago and asking for thin crust...

if you cant find cheeze whiz, any really processed jarred (non spicy) cheese will work

EXACTLY! I'm pretty sure everyone in the world knows that we Americans have to put cheese on everything. And once you put the whiz on the the sandwich it's official. I've tried it other ways, but seriously... :a:

It must be an east coast thing? I never see any food made with cheese whiz. Is there any other popular food on the east coast food made with it?

Great point! I can't think of a single thing besides the cheesesteak.

I wasn't really craving it at first, but damn what I would do to a cheesesteak right now! -q-

Which is it though, because I've had a couple of different kinds and some is far nastier.

These is decent, good as like nacho cheese dip especially when heated:

My problem with Philly Cheesesteak is the cheese. American cheese is possibly the most vile I have ever had.

Also your bread tastes very sweet, do you guys put sugar in it? I found it very sweet for my dainty English palette.

Yeah just don't use those individually plastic wrapped square slices. That shit doesn't even melt haha.
Bread is made differently everywhere though. We made 2 kinds: one normal and one with brown sugar. Not a lot though.

well to be fair, on a philly cheese steak the cheese isn't the hero of the sandwich, it's the beef and veggies. The cheese is really just there to help paste it all together and add a tad bit of moisture for what can be an othewise dry sandwich.
