Dubstep in Guitar Hero

Post by wildpluckings »

I have become obsessed with Dubstep and I started charting up some of my favourite tracks for Guitar Hero:

Haha. I decided to share my "project" on here if anyone is interested. Yes, Guitar Hero's time has long passed, but these tracks work so well with rhythm games! :4:

ah zero tolerance for ignorance then? my understanding was LFO's controlling cutoff and big bass drops was dubstep. wow. Sorry for upsetting everyone if you are all really that sensitive about "your" music genre being misunderstood by guys like me then maybe you should try educating me straight instead of the sarcastic crap.

How about converting some of your favourite fart noises to Guitar Hero. You would be on to a winner there surely.

Maybe the mods should consider changing the sign up question?

Perhaps this:

What's your favourite Dubstep producer?

A) Skrillex
B) Doctor P
C) None of the above

Only people that choose C are allowed to register.

I just read through "NEW TO DUBSTEP? A guide to start with is here."

Assuming that is the mindset for most people on here, I now understand where all the sarcasm comes from. I doubt you'll pay any attention to this but if you want to welcome new people into your community a lot has to change. I was friendly and said nothing aggressive or offensive and got flamed to pieces just based on ignorance.

Please elaborate on why you think this is a ridiculous idea. Guitar Hero has nothing to do with playing guitar either. The shape of the controller and title don't mean anything It is a rhythm game and synth sequences work extremely well in rhythm games

If you cant take a bit of sarcasm and bad humour you have come to the wrong place.

Id advise you to stay away from the Secret Ninja Hideout.

Honestly, they should have done. From the response I've had it is clear you deal with "uneducated" people like me on a daily basis

So the fact that you play this game with a controller that has the shape of a guitar has nothing to do with it? So basically you're saying that you might as well be playing this game on a church organ controller? That wouldn't be any different than playing it with a guitar?
Don't all the songs in that game have guitars in them as well? (Never played the stupid game so I could be wrong)

Look, if they included this shit commercial Dubstep that you enjoy into DJ Hero or something I would've understood it, but Guitar Hero? Why the fuck? That just makes no sense...

The controller is just an interface that went with the guitar theme the game has. Electronic music works extremely well with the game and that is all that matters there should not be meaningless barriers like "it is supposed to be guitar". As long as you can chart it and it is challenging people who play the game will enjoy it. This is an argument for another day though. Also your use of adjectives (stupid game / shit commercial dubstep) exposes how sensitive you are to your beliefs so I doubt what I have said will make you see things any different!

That is an interesting point of view maybe I am being to sensitive to the sarcasm I don't know. I genuinely felt that some people were insulted by my original topic though. I didn't look to start fires!
