Here's an example of some of the sounds i've been getting out of FM8. This remix was a good opportunity to test out some new techniques, so just getting started really
You can get some sick sounds coming straight out the synth but these ones have a touch of resampling and post processing

Nice work man, this is sounding sick! I have been working hard, and I got a nice bunch of Tomba/Skrillex style growls made, and just for the record, FM8 is an absolutely amazing synth! I have been using it loads since I got it, and it is a serious contender against Massive, it just takes a little longer to learn, but definitely worth it!

I understand what you are saying about being original but this just isnt true. many artists have made it just by copying someone else.

Thanks dudes! The tutorial I posted really helped me, I had a look at the sort of setup he had within FM8 and just emulated it a bit. As a total newcomer to the synth it just helped me figure out the UI and how to twiddle certain things more than anything else.

djcainn, good sound, but try pitch bending it up to give it the rising feeling. Also needs some higher harmonics, you can LFO all sorts of shit in FM8 to get fucked up sounds. Try LFOing a filter or one of your oscillators, a slow LFO will give it more growl

Hey thanks man! I need to try that. See im VERY new to FM8. That sound is basically the first and only one Ive made so far in FM8. This may sound retarded but can you give any tips on how to go about routing LFO? I still dont know all of the interface. I mean I know it but not anything like I should. Or even better could you suggest some good tutorials?

Click the "mod" button to open the page and you have to click on the spot in the matrix where lfo1 or 2 interesects with whatever operator, carrier, or filter you want modulated. Move mouse up or down to taste and make sure lfo is on at the bottom of the page..
