How do you guys deal with Brostep?

Post by avoidpi » Fri Sep 02, 2011 10:07 am

I'm only 17 years old and EVERYONE my age has been hitting the Dubstep scene like there is no tomorrow.. I myself have been listening to Dubstep for over 2 years now and when all this crazy stuff happened I was legitimately depressed. Now (going into Uni in the next week) I know this spread like wildfire over the summer, I haven't been exposed to Brostep too much this summer other than FB statuses praising Skrillex and whatnot, and I'm sort of worried of what I'm going to have to deal with when I go back to school.. It's gotten to the point where I actually hate people who talk about Dubstep.. Especially since I live in Canada where there is absolutely no legitimate Dubstep scene, just people who recently discovered Electronic music.

I wish I lived in London.. ;_;

1) Listen to the music you like
2) Don't talk about dubstep to people you know you are gonna react in a manner you won't like
3) In Mcdonalds

NONE of my friends like dubstep. There's thousands of people here that will talk all day about the sort of dubstep you like, so there's no need to deal with it. :h:

that must suck :) but judging from the pic in your avatar you're doing well what comes to music taste. for a youngster in the age of skrillex and what not that's pretty good. Big Ups

Hah, thanks a lot. :D

Yeah, Tinderbox is my favorite release this year, it's stupidly huge. Currently listening through Truth - Puppets for the 100th time, good stuff. Thanks for the advice by the way, I think I overreact a little to much when I hear conversations about "dubstep" anyways, I guess I just got to keep it to myself.

Glad to be on this forum, I've been hesitant to make an account for whatever reason.

Really, could you give a fuck?

If people are willing to listen, then put them onto some good shit. If their gonna be homophobe. about it, then fuck em.

And if they like this 'bro-step' coz its aggressive and they think the deeper stuff is boring (which i fuckin guarantee you they will say), then put them onto some GOOD aggressive dubstep like Vex'd "Degenerate", Broken Note, Milanese etc. Just have a sub at hand. With a sub those artists are 10 times more aggressive than Skrillex.
